Commercial Driving Privilege: Eligible
Vessel Privilege: Eligible
Please ensure that you have a valid license in your possession by following these guidelines:
• If you were previously licensed in Alabama and do not have a current driver license in your possession, you may now
apply for a renewal or duplicate online at [Link] or any License Commissioner or Probate Judge's office.
You must visit an ALEA Driver License Office if any of the following criteria apply to you:
• You were issued a Hardship license, Vessel only license or Non-Driver ID during your withdrawal period
• You downgraded your CDL or need to downgrade your CDL
• You are a Foreign National
• If you are no longer a resident of Alabama, you may now apply for a license in the state where you currently reside.
Driving in Alabama is an important privilege. You can help preserve that privilege by obeying the speed limit, all other traffic
laws and by buckling up every time you drive.
