Chapter 2: Equations

• Types of equations
1. Linear equation with one variable. ax+ b=c. (maximum degree of variable is 1)
2. Linear equation with two variable. ax+by=c. (maximum degree of variable is 1)
3. Quadratic equations. (maximum degree of variable is 2)
4. Cubic equation.(maximum degree of variable is 3)

• Go by option. ( check ax + bx + cx + d = 0 whether all the conditions given in question
is satisfied.)
• For linear equations with two variables : elimination method or cross multiplication method.

Chapter 3: Linear Inequalities
Points to be remembered
• check on signs of inequality ·; ¸; <; >
• In the Graph , less than sign means area to the origin side and more than means area
opposite to origin side
• Non negativity constraint x>0;y>0
• If problem is for maximisation then in constraint sign will be
for minimisation
