These three diagrams represent to what extent West Park Secondary School
has changed during a period that encompasses since the year it was
constructed, which was in 1950, and up to 2010.
To begin with, the houses and the farmland that were close to the main road in
1950 were demolished by 1980. The land where the houses used to be was
divided into halves and they became two different places. One of them was
turned into a car park, and the other half, which was near the school, became
part of it as the science block. As for the biggest area, where the farmland used
to be, it was turned into a sports field. Some decades later, in 2010, the car
park was widened and completely disposed of the area that belonged to the
sports field back in 1980, resulting in the playground area being significantly
reduced in size so that part of the area could be occupied by the sports field.
