settings (P5 – Complex Overt Response)

application letters, resumes and other documents, in a professional manner
(C6 – Create)

to business correspondence, work documents, and during job interviews 

Assignment/Project Task

In a group of 10 people, assume that you are one entity (an individual) searching for a job.
Search for any recent job vacancy advertisement, anything dated this year (2025), that is
related to any of your field of study (e.g. business administration, accounting, IT, software
engineering, architecture, engineering, quantity surveying, etc.), from any source
(newspaper, Jobstreet, other websites). Make a copy of the advert (either scanned,
downloaded, or screenshot) and complete the following three (3) tasks:

Task 1 & 2:
In your group, write ONE (1) cover letter and ONE (1) resume for your group entity based
on the job advertisement you’ve chosen. Attach the soft copy of the job advertisement
together with the soft copy of your assignment (cover letter & resume) for the lecturer’s
reference (all 3 items in ONE PDF file ONLY).
* The copy of the job ad is needed so that I can evaluate how well you have tailored your
resume and cover letter for that specific ad. If you do not submit an ad, I cannot mark
your letter and resume.

Task 3:
Produce a short informational video (akin to a video advertisement or a public service
announcement) that shows at least 5 job interview do’s and don’ts (5 Do’s and 5 Don’ts).
The purpose of the video is to inform and provide examples to job seekers or the public at
large on what to do and what to avoid during job interviews. You are free to use any
platform, software or idea in creating the video. All group members are required to be
involved in the creation of the video (all members must act in the video). Make sure the
video is NOT MORE than 10 minutes long. Be as creative as you can.

* For the sake of the assignment, you may make-believe the content of your resume in order
to fulfill the criteria of the job ad. For example, you may assume that your group entity is
older, has more work experience, graduated from top university, etc.
