MINUTES OF THE MEETING
HELD ON 14/12/2024
1. OPENING PRAYER: it was led by Mrs. Mary Obineye at 10:45am
2. SPIRITUAL EXHALTION: was taken from the first reading of the day (book of Sirach). Elijah
existed in the era of evil, because of his zeal, he was able to call on God and was answered
immediately. We are called to emulate the character of prophet Elijah
3. APOLOGY: catechist Anslem
4. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: it was read to all members present
5. CORECTION: attendance was missing. Typographical errors. There was no heading to indicate
what meeting was held. Church dedication planning not dedication. Mrs Helen Anoruo not
Anyuorah.
6. ADOPTION: Mrs Beatrice Olokodana moved the motion to adopt the minutes and Mr. Stephen
supported
7. PAST MATTERS
7.1 25 YEARS ANNIVERSARY: the only report that was given to the house was the financial
statement by Mr Austin Ojojo since the chairman wasn’t available

Mr Fagbodun thanked st. Agnes for giving us the amount they gave us despite just
getting a land for permanent place of worship
Mr. Idiata told the financial department to chech Mr. Egegele’s debt cause he made
some paymenton the 13th of December 2024.
He also thanked the committee cause they’ve done really well and they should be able
to collect the remaining debts
7.2 HARVEST: Mr. Adaigbe said the committee did a god job by encouraging the
parishioners to participate
from the bazaar view, it was also handled perfectly
from the food view: some people complained about not being cared for and therefore
didn’t donate for the bazaar
Mr Okonji said the only area he found that wasn’t okay was the items that was brought
for the bazaar sales because the floor was empty
Mr Ojojo suggested monetizing the items instead of bringing it because CMO changed
their items at the last minute
Mrs Sorunke said until the report is read before the house would be able to give
corrections
Mr Idiata said as the harvest is getting to an end, the drafted report should also be ready
to avoid any mistake and for PPC to be able to see the report when due, same goes for
the 25th year anniversary
Mrs. Olokodana said concerning the report, it is been delayed because some people are
yet to redeem their pledges and concerning the bazaar sales some societies refused to
donate which made the items smaller
Mr. Okonji said concerning the bazaar sales, we shouldn’t look at the angle of people
won’t buy or pay
Mr. Sorunke said during bazaar sales, individuals should also be given the chance to
bring their own items so as to make everywhere colourful and full
Father James asked a question: should all items be monetized and money given to the
harvest committee to get the items themselves?
Mr Edeh Obinna said we should encourage ourselves when coming for family
thanksgiving, , we should bring items individually
Mrs Emohyon said the organisation not bringing items was very bad and we can do
better
7.3 LAND: so far so good, St. Agnes Okanlanwon have paid the sum of 14, 750, 000
mr. Balogun thanked the main parish for her continuous support and should continuing
helping St. Agnes
Mr Fagbodun asked a question: have the bishop supported the buying of the land
because he supported when corpus Christi, Otemuyi?
7.4 CATHEDRATICUM: the sum of 247, 700 have been collected thus:

8. MATTERS ARISING
8.1 the zones should plan and try to infuse their cultural harvest between January to April
8.2 CEILING OF THE CHURCH: so far so good, the centre eye of the church have been
completed, total money spent was 9, 860, 650. Mr Idiata gave the house a break down
on what the amount was used for and what was bought and he also gave the house an
estimate for the remaining sides and added 20% because of inflation, the amount
estimated was 6, 610, 000 and adding 20% of the money. Father James said he would
love the project to be done between December to easter period
Mrs. Sorunke appreciated the committee and the priest for a job well done. She also
suggested the chairman should come to the church and give the report so the church
wont relent in donating.
Mr Okonji suggested in printing the report in the bulletin so those who are still owing
can pay up
Mrs Mercy Uloghobui suggested the priest get the names of all the parishioners and
allocates money based on their numerical strength and capability and it can be payed
instalmentally so no families would feel left out
Mr. Adaigbe said he loves the idea Mrs Mercy Uloghobui brought but we should do it
with more skills
father gave us a sample of letter and told us it was the letter given to parishioners of St.
Agnes Okanlawon
Mr. idiata said the idea might not be good because of our numerical strength so its
better we plan well
8.3 PEWS: father asked the house a question: how can we make the plan to be good looking
and presentable
Mrs. Sorunke said we cannot reuse the chairs cause they are not in good shape
Mr. Ojojo said the house should also look into the sizes and spaces for pews
Mr. Idiata said we should wait till we complete the ceiling before talking about the pews
8.4 PPC VICE-CHAIRMAN: father said he is still contemplating on who to be the vice-
chairman
from the last meeting, Mr. Okonji and Mr. Idiata was asked to meet with him and sort
the issue on ground which they did and brought back the information that he wont be
residing here again because of his health
Mr. Ojojo said he should have left properly (him leaving his position)
Mrs. Sorunke said we should let the matter be gone because we cant keep bringing past
matters to the house

Mr. Sorunke appealed to the house to buckle up so we can help the seminary
Mr. Adaigbe suggested that that the report be given to the church so they can know
what the money is been used for
Mr. Fagbodun supported Mr. Adaigbe’s Idea
8.6 LITURGICAL GROUP REPORT:
The speakers are not in good shape and needs to be changed
Mrs. Mercy Uloghobui said the choristers should be able to meet with their patrons and
patroness

Mrs. Sorunke said she observed some people wearing a badge that doesn’t belong to
the catholic church and asked father to look into it
Mrs. Helen Anoruo said some of them would leave the mass halfway to attend the
fellowship on Sunday and they are leaders of various societies
Mr Idiata said if you’re a catholic, behave like one. We shouldn’t allow those sets of
people pollute the catholic church, we should also let them know that they cant receive
the holy communion while wearing a non-catholic badge
Mr. sorunke observed that every first Sunday, our priest don’t use latin
Mr. Austin Ojojo said we should educate them on not wearing them(badges that doesn’t
belong to the catholic church) at all in the church premises
on the 22/12/24, the church would have her Christmas carol.
he asked a question? Which members constitute the P.P.C, and the organisations should
know who and who should always attend the meetings
Mr. Fagbodun talked about the catechetical mass so as to enlighten the people about
the faith and rules of the catholic church
The liturgical groups should also be in uniform
BCC (basic Christian community)
the priest met the BCC in the parish and is ought to follow up with it, he also suggested
we have a man and woman to coordinate the BCC so it can start functioning well. Father
responded to the BBC matters saying the members are not turning up for the program
and same goes to the catechetical mass, people don’t comeout for such programs
Mrs Olatauro said during the time of father Michael, he do assign catechist to give talk at
all BCC mass
Father said should we make it a law that when doing baptism, should we ask for
reference letter from the BCC
Mrs. Sorunke said there is a guideline that coordinators collect from the priest to use for
the week for every BBC mass
