Private Favourite Locations Feature

The document outlines the creation of a 'Private Favourite Locations' feature for a Google Maps-based Android app. Users can click on the map to input location details, save them in SharedPreferences, and display markers for saved locations. The app will also manage markers based on the visible map region and center the map at the user's location on launch.

Create a “Private Favourite Locations” feature within a Google Maps-based

Android app. When a user clicks on the map, display a custom fragment
titled “Favourite Location Data.” This fragment should allow the user to input
the title and description of the location, assign a rating using a 5-star scale
(similar to business ratings on Google Maps), and interact with Save, Cancel,
and Delete buttons. The title field must be editable, and the Delete button
should allow users to remove a previously saved location.

If the user provides input and clicks Save, store the title, description, rating,
and the selected location’s latitude and longitude in SharedPreferences. After
saving, remove the fragment and place a marker on the map at the clicked
location, labeled with the saved title. If the user clicks Cancel, simply dismiss
the fragment without saving any data.

Whenever the user moves the map and the camera becomes idle, clear all
existing markers and display only the saved favourite locations that fall
within the current visible region (LatLngBounds) of the map. On app launch,
center the map at the user’s current location and load only the favourite
locations from SharedPreferences that are within the visible region,
displaying them as markers on the map.

Yes, the refined version is well-suited for an AI prompt. It clearly and

concisely communicates the feature requirements, expected behaviors, and
data flow without needing bullets or numbers. It balances clarity and detail,
making it effective for tasks like:

Code generation by AI

Assigning development tasks

Describing app behavior for documentation or UI/UX design

If you'd like, I can further tailor it for a specific use case like generating
Android Java/Kotlin code, explaining it to a designer, or preparing it for a
product requirement document.
