College Application Essay
Cavite State University has always been one of my dream schools, not only because I grew up
in Cavite but also because of the deep admiration I have developed for this institution over the
years. As a child, I was captivated by it every time we passed by, and I would often hear about it
from friends and classmates. I promised myself that one day, I would become a part of this
university, and now, as I approach the halfway point of my senior year, I am determined to turn
that promise into reality.
Writing this college application essay is a milestone in my journey, a reflection of how far I have
come. I believe that Cavite State University will provide me with a strong foundation for my
future career as a psychotherapist. The university’s academic excellence and hands-on training
will equip me with essential skills such as active listening, empathy, critical thinking, effective
communication, and the ability to assess and support individuals struggling with mental health
challenges. I am confident that this institution will prepare me to make a meaningful impact in
the field of psychology and mental health care.
My senior high school experience has played a crucial role in shaping my aspirations. One of
the subjects that influenced me the most was Personal Development, where we studied human
behavior. I became particularly fascinated with dream psychology, which sparked my interest in
the complexities of the human mind. In addition to my coursework, I have been watching
psychology-related videos, which are both engaging and insightful. Through continuous learning
and self-exploration, I discovered my true calling—a path that I believe is part of God’s plan for
me.
As I enter my college journey, one of my goals is not just to learn but also to develop and refine
my skills. I know that Cavite State University nurtures students into skilled, morally upright
professionals who are prepared to compete globally and contribute meaningfully to society. With
the university’s guidance, I aim to deepen my knowledge and gain valuable experiences that will
allow me to understand the human mind better and help individuals navigate their personal
struggles.
What once seemed like an uncertain path for me has now become my life’s mission. My passion
for psychology drives me forward, and I am committed to this journey of growth, learning, and
service. With Cavite State University as my guide, I am ready to take the next step toward
becoming a psychotherapist—one who not only fulfills her dreams but also makes her parents
proud.

Cavite General Hospital – Psychiatry Department

Dear Mrs. Navarro,
I am writing to express my interest in the Psychotherapist position at Cavite General Hospital –
Psychiatry Department. My former professor, Mrs. Carmelita Puentez, encouraged me to
pursue my education at this esteemed hospital, where I previously worked as an intern. Now,
with both formal education and hands-on experience, I am eager to return—not as an intern, but
as a dedicated and well-equipped psychotherapist.
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cavite State University
and went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Psychology at Centro Escolar University,
Manila. My experience as a current assistant therapist at Cavite Mental Health Center, Trece
Martires, allowed me to work closely with therapists in treatment planning, counseling, and
facilitating group therapy sessions.
Before that, I interned at Cavite General Hospital – Psychiatry Department, where I assisted in
therapy sessions, conducted intake interviews, and supported clients in developing coping
strategies. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of psychotherapy
techniques and reinforced my commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and healing space
for clients.
With my expertise, dedication, and passion for mental health care, I am eager to return to Cavite
General Hospital—this time as a fully qualified psychotherapist. I am excited about the
opportunity to contribute to your institution and positively impact the lives of patients in need.
Thank you for considering my application. I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my skills
align with your institution’s goals. Please feel free to contact me at 0927 813 2641 or
