1.2 Computer System Requirements
Pyros EQS version 1.2 Service Pack 2 can be installed on a computer with the following system
specifications.

Installing and using the software on the Windows 8 or 8.1 operating system is not supported,
since the software has not been validated on Windows 8 or 8.1.
1.3 Required Settings
Always On Power Option
Allowing your computer to hibernate or turn off during data acquisition can interrupt the transfer
of data from the instrument to the software and result in data loss. For optimum results, turn off
all sleep and hibernation settings for the hard disk, the CPU, and the USB ports.
You can set these options in Windows Control Panel.
1.3.1 Open Control Panel.
1.3.2 Under Power Options, click Change when the computer sleeps.
1.3.3 Click Change advanced power settings.
1.3.4 In the Power Options dialog, set Hard disk > Turn off hard disk after to Never.
1.3.5 Set Sleep > Sleep after to Never.
1.3.6 Set Sleep > Hibernate after to Off.
1.3.7 Set USB settings > USB selective suspend setting to Disabled.
1.3.8 Click OK.
1.3.9 Click Save changes.
1.3.10 Click X in the upper right corner to close.

2 Pyros EQS Version 1.2 Service Pack 2 Software Release Notes:
2.1 Introduction
The Pyros EQS Data Acquisition and Analysis Software version 1.2 SP2 is a minor release. The
following is a summary of the changes incorporated in this revision as compared to version 1.2
SP1A, the last general release of the Pyros EQS Software.
2.2 New to Pyros EQS v1.2 SP2
No new functionality in version 1.2 Service Pack 2.
2.3 Modifications Made to Pyros EQS v1.2 SP2

Modifications to installer and Windows compatibility, update to Oracle database
version were made and limited change to accommodate issue resolution.

2.4 Issues Addressed in Pyros EQS v1.2 SP2
o Tracking ID 323
Description: Discrepancy in reporting R value between Report Cover, Standard Curve
Regression Plot, Individual Sample Report and Pass/Fail Report.
Resolution: All reports now round the correlation coefficient to 3 decimal places.
Previously some reports displayed the correlation coefficient with a higher precision.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 322
Description: Object reference not set to an instance of an object is encountered when
trending data.
Resolution: The application no longer crashes when trending data.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 321
Description: Object reference not set to an instance of an object is encountered when
opening the Standard Regression Curve in Analyze Data.
Resolution: The application no longer crashes when trending data.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 320
Description: Object reference not set to an instance of an object is encountered when
opening the Well Charts in Analyze Data.
Resolution: The application no longer crashes when trending data.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 319
Description: Mean Endotoxin Concentration is not calculated for a valid sample.
Resolution: A mean concentration is now reported as <λ when a sample has reacted
and unreacted wells and all wells have a concentration that is <λ. Previously a “Check
Wells” message was displayed.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 318
Description: Uncleared StringBuilder in state STATE_TEMPERATURE_READBLCK
may hinder a user's ability to start an assay.
Resolution: The application no longer hangs when starting a test if left on the verify
temperature screen for a long period of time.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.

o Tracking ID 317
Description: [Link] in CaptureRawBlockData causes data
collection to stop.
Resolution: The data collection process no longer crashes.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 316
Description: [Link] in m_SerialPort_DataReceived causes
incomplete state transition.
Resolution: The data collection process no longer crashes.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 281
Description: Sample results on the Data Summary and Pass/Fail Reports are listed in
different order than order of the wells in which they are run in test.
Resolution: Results are now ordered on the Data Summary and Pass / Fail Reports.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
3 Pyros EQS Version 1.2 Service Pack 1A Software Release Notes:
3.1 Introduction
The Pyros EQS Data Acquisition and Analysis Software version 1.2 SP1A was a minor release.
The following is a summary of the changes incorporated in this revision as compared to version
1.2 SP1 of the Pyros EQS Software.
3.2 New to Pyros EQS v1.2 SP1A
No new functionality in version 1.2 Service Pack 1A.
3.3 Modifications Made to Pyros EQS v1.2 SP1A
No modifications made during the SP1A release.
3.4 Issues Addressed in Pyros EQS v1.2 SP1A
o Tracking ID 313
Description: The Individual Sample Report incorrectly calculates the Initial
Concentration when the Initial Dilution is not 1.
Resolution: The Initial Concentration was defined as the Product Concentration before
Dilution / Initial Dilution. The Initial Concentration is now the same as the Initial Dilution.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 312
Description: The Individual Sample Report does not display the Adjusted Endotoxin
Limit in the sample’s reported Endotoxin Unit.
Resolution: The Adjusted Endotoxin Limit is now reported in the same unit as the Mean
Final Endotoxin Concentration.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.

o Tracking ID 308
Description: The Pass/Fail Report displays Pass when the Endotoxin Limit Actual
value is equal to the Endotoxin Limit Specification.
Resolution: The Pass / Fail Report no longer displays a Pass notation when the
Endotoxin Limit Actual Value equals the sample’s Endotoxin Limit Specification.
Impact of Fix: Samples that have a Found Endotoxin Concentration equal to the
Endotoxin Limit Specification will now be reported as “Fail” on the Pass / Fail report. In
previous versions they were reported as “Pass”.
o Tracking ID 307
Description: Individual Sample Report and the Pass/Fail Report may report different
final endotoxin concentrations.
Resolution: The Pass / Fail report no longer performs intermediate rounding when
calculating the Mean Final Endotoxin Concentration.
o Impact of Fix: The Pass / Fail report may display a different numerical value for the
Mean Final Endotoxin Concentration that was previously reported with this report. The
new reported value will now match the reported value on the Individual Sample Report
and the Data Summary Report.
o Tracking ID 306
Description: Individual Sample Report with multi-dilution samples may display
incorrect Pass/Fail result.
Resolution: The Individual Sample Report now reports the correct Pass / Fail notation
for all multi-dilution samples.
Impact of Fix: The Individual Sample Report may display a different Pass / Fail notation
when reporting multi-dilution samples.
o Tracking ID 304
Description: Customer logo fails to appear in upper right side of all reports.
Resolution: The software now displays custom customer logos on the Report Cover,
Individual Well Results and Assay Audit Trail reports.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 297
Description: Incorrect reporting of series.
Resolution: The software no longer invalidates all dilutions in a sample series when an
invalid Positive Product Control is encountered. The dilution with the invalid Positive
Product Control is flagged as invalid.
Impact of Fix: Multi-dilution samples that were previously reported as Invalid may now
be reported as Pass / Fail.
o Tracking ID 295
Description: Invalid Spike displays Pass on Individual Sample Report
Resolution: The software no longer reports a sample pass or fail result when the spike
recovery is “Check Wells”.
Impact of Fix: The Individual Sample Report may display a different Pass / Fail notation.

o Tracking ID 294
Description: m/l per device fails to calculate on Individual Sample Report.
Resolution: The software correctly calculates results when a sample limit is entered in
EU/Device and ml/Device.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
4 Pyros EQS Version 1.2 Service Pack 1 Software Release Notes:
4.1 Introduction
The Pyros EQS Data Acquisition and Analysis Software version 1.2 SP1 is a minor release. The
following is a summary of the changes incorporated in this revision as compared to version 1.2
of the Pyros EQS Software.

Description: Test complete override fails.
Resolution: Application data collection heartbeat recovery process modified to better
support high system load.

o Tracking ID 301
Description: EQS crashes - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A05E2B3) (80131506).
Resolution: EQS no longer crashes with a Fata Execution Engine Error.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 300
Description: EQS crashes - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A097706) (80131506).
Resolution: EQS no longer crashes with a Fata Execution Engine Error.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 299
Description: EQS splash and main screen tiles if DPI is not 96.
Resolution: EQS now supports resolutions greater than 96 dpi.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 298
Description: DCP process crash – NulReferenceException.
Resolution: The application logic that caused the NullReferenceException has been
redesigned. The DCP process does not crash in this circumstance.

o Tracking ID 293
Description: Failed to register “Hot Key”.
Resolution: EQS now includes logic to handle conflicting application hot keys. The
application does not crash when conflicting hot keys are registered.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 286
Description: Pyros EQS may stop collecting data/missing data blocks.
Resolution: Enhanced the serial port clock recovery algorithm.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 283
Description: Graphic Circle Reports do not launch on button click event for PK Flex
instruments.
Resolution: The Graphic Circle Reports event logic now uses the same event logic for
PK and PK Flex instruments. Both instrument Graphic Circle Reports will now show well
graphs when a well is clicked.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 280
Description: Skipped wells with no data affect the Individual Well Results printout.
Resolution: Skipped wells no longer affect the display of the Concentration Dilution
Adjusted Value column.
Impact of Fix: This does not impact the validity or integrity of any existing / collected
test data.
o Tracking ID 273
Description: If end user needs to change database from non-compliant to compliant
this cannot be done without reinstalling the database schema.
Resolution: User can now upgrade a non-compliant install to a compliant install without
reinstalling the database schema.

test data.
