B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
Before we start our topic presentation today,
let us have an exciting activity. This is called
“message relay” I will divide the class into
three groups and each of you will be given a
sheet of paper that contains the message that
you are going to pass to the person in front of
you. The last person in the row will recite the
said message. The fastest team with the most
accurate message will receive an additional 5
points in their quiz for today.
For your groupings, students at the right side
will be group 1, in the left side will be group 2
and the center will be group 3. Remember
class, avoid too much noise, noisy group will
received deductions of points.

group dynamics. We have three envelopes
here that contains the lecture notes and
instruction on how you will do the activity.
Further, it also contains the rubrics on how
you will be assessed in your presentation.
Group 1 will be task to PRESENT the Periods
of Development through a Beauty Contest.
Group 2 is expected to play Pinoy Henyo in
PRESENTing the Developmental Tasks
(Havighurst) and group 2 will PRESENT the
Domains of Development through a Puppet
Show.
I am giving you 3 minutes to prepare and 10
minutes to present your output. Before we
proceed may I remind you of the following
criteria in assessing your presentation, to wit:
Completeness of Presentation – 40%
Mastery of the Content – 40%
Teamwork/ Rapport – 20%
You may start the activity now, be reminded
that noisy group will receive 20 points
deductions.
Be reminded also to be attentive in the
presentation of each group because the
presentation will help you POINT OUT AND
ANALYZE the concepts in child and
adolescence development using a learning log
that you need to accomplish after listening to
the presentation.
Further, the presentation will also help you to
reflect on the implications of the different
concepts of child and adolescence in
development pedagogy through a self-
imagineering web.

Just a trivia Robert James Havighurst was a
professor, physicist, educator, and aging
expert. Havighurst worked and published well
into his 80s. According to his family, Havighurst
died of Alzheimer’s disease at the age of
ninety. He proposed that all individuals
progress through a series of developmental
stages, each comprising a series of
developmental tasks. Although these tasks can
be learned at home or in other settings,
Havighurst maintained that the interrelated
nature of developmental tasks suggests that
educators should consider all developmental
tasks of children and adolescents.

four major domains: physical development,
cognitive development, social-emotional
development, and language development.
Each domain, while unique in it's own, has
much overlap with all other domains. It is
important to understand these concepts,
because everything related to human
development can be traced back to these four
domains.
