Introduction
In fluid laboratories, scientists build experiments with devices such as pipes, nozzles, pumps, and
flow measuring tools to simulate real fluid behavior. Because these systems run under high pressure
and can have moving parts, workplace safety must always be at the forefront during lab work.
Following proper safety steps in the lab keeps workers from being hurt and keeps equipment safe.
Teachers and students are required to use the necessary safety equipment and follow set rules to
ensure safety. It covers important lab rules about handling pressurized systems, electrical equipment,
and machinery as possible, as well instructions for what to do in case of accidents. As shown in figure
1.

1
Objective
1. Be aware of the dangers found in labs when dealing with pressurized systems and rotating
items.
2. Ensure accidents do not occur by sticking to all the lab procedures.
3. Safety should be highest on your mind; remember to wear safety equipment and know how
to operate emergency tools.
Safety Equipment
1. Safety goggles.
2. Lab coats and gloves.
3. Emergency stop buttons.
4. A first aid kit and a fire extinguisher.
5. Eye washing station.
6. Easy-to-find and understand signage and safety labels.
7. Guarded rotating machinery.
8. Gauges show the pressure and valves to let off that pressure.
Safety Procedure
1. Make sure you are on time and that you put on your goggles and lab coat.
2. Operating any equipment should only happen when an instructor is present.
3. Inspect all the connections and valves before you start your experiment.
4. Know where the emergency exits and safety equipment are.
5. Release the pressure from the tank system before unhooking the hoses.
6. Don’t let water come into contact with any electrical appliances. If one of the pieces of
equipment stops working, announce it to the instructor and press the safety stop right away.
needed.
7. Make sure to clean up after yourself and highlight any dangers found.

Observations
Experiments are done most effectively when the laboratory is both safe and orderly. Students are
expected to pay close attention and use the rules whenever they are on lab grounds. Mishaps in a fluid
mechanics lab are usually the result of inattention, mishandling laboratory equipment, or not
following the main safety guidelines. Sticking to using PPE, keeping communication clear, and
noticing and reporting any hazards are necessary to keep the job safe. As shown in figure2.

Conclusion
Knowing and using responsible safety techniques is essential for carrying out experiments safely and
correctly. Attending this lab was fundamental for getting a good grasp of safety requirements for
Fluids Lab. Doing what was explained keeps the students and the equipment safe throughout the
course.
