ENGINEERING DRAWING
(Electronics & Communication Engineering)
Time: 3 hours Max. Marks: 70
(Answer all the questions: 05 X 14 = 70 Marks)
Assume any missing data appropriately.
*****
1 A circle of 40 mm diameter rolls clockwise along a line for one revolution. Draw the locus of a 14M
point on the circle, which is in contact with the line. In addition, draw a tangent and a normal
to the curve at a point 35 mm from the directing line.
OR
2 A bullet is fired from the ground level at an angle 600 to the horizontal. The bullet hits the 14M
target at a point 80 m from its point of firing. Trace the path of the bullet using tangent method
and taking a suitable scale.

3 (a) Draw the projections of the following points on a common reference line : 7M
(i) P, 25 mm below the H.P. and in the V.P.
(ii) Q, 40 mm behind the V.P. and in the H.P.
(iii) R, 30 mm below the H.P. and 30 mm in front of the V.P.
(iv) S, 25 mm above the H.P. and 25 mm behind the V.P.
(b) A circular plate of negligible thickness of diameter 60 mm has the end A of the diameter AB in 7M
the HP and the plate is inclined at 45° to the HP. Draw its projections when the diameter AB
appears to be inclined at 60° to the VP in the top view.
OR
4 A circular lamina of diameter 60 mm has the end A of the diameter AB in the HP and the end 14M
B on the VP. Draw its projections when the surface inclined at 400 to the HP and 500 to VP.

5 A right circular cone, 40 mm base diameter and 60 mm long axis is resting on Hp on one point 14M
of base circle such that it’s axis makes 450 inclination with Hp and 400 inclination with VP.
Draw its projections.
OR
6 A cube of 50 mm long edges is so placed on Hp on one corner that a body diagonal is parallel 14M
to Hp and perpendicular to VP Draw it’s projections.

7 A pentagonal pyramid with edge of base 25 mm and axis 65 mm long is resting on H.P on its 14M
base with an edge nearer to the observer, parallel to V.P. It is cut by a section plane, inclined
at 600 to V.P and at a distance of 6 mm from the axis. Draw the projections and obtain the
true shape of the section.
OR
8 A cylinder of 45 mm diameter and 70 mm long is resting on one of its bases on H.P. It is cut 14M
by a section plane, inclined at 600 with H.P and passing through a point on the axis at 15 mm
from one end. Draw the three views of the solid and also obtain the true shape of the section.

9 A right circular cone, base 70 mm and height 70 mm, rests on its base on the ground plane. 14M
A section plane perpendicular to VP and inclined at 30° to HP cuts the cone,
bisecting its axis. Draw the development of the lateral surface of the cone.
OR
10 A pentagonal pyramid of base 25 mm and altitude 50 mm rests on its base on the HP and two 14M
sides of the base perpendicular to VP. It is cut by a plane bisecting the axis and inclined
at 45° to the base. Draw the development of the lateral surface of the lower part of the
pyramid.
