Assume any missing data appropriately.
*****
1 A wheel of a bike of diameter 500 mm rolls without slipping on a level road through a distance of 14M
1025 mm. Trace the path of a point P on the wheel which is initially in contact with the road.
Name the curve. Find the angle through which the wheel is turned.
OR
2 A Ball thrown up in the air reaches a maximum height of 50 m .The horizontal distance travelled 14M
by the ball is 80 [Link] the path of the ball and name it.
3 A line AB has its end A in HP and 40 mm in front of VP. Its front view is inclined at 50° to XY 14M
and has a length of 70 [Link] other end B is in VP. Draw its projections. Also, find the true
length and true inclinations of the line.
OR
4 A Pentagonal lamina of 35 mm side has a semi-circular hole of 15 mm radius centrally punched. 14M
The lamina is perpendicular to HP with one of its sides touching VP. The surface of the lamina
is inclined at 40° to VP. Draw the three views.
5 Draw the front and top views of an octahedron of edges 30 mm when one face is in HP and one 14M
edge of that face makes 45° with VP.
OR
6 A frustum of a square pyramid base side 40 mm, top side 22 mm and altitude 53 mm has its 14M
bases equally inclined to VP. Its axis is parallel to VP. It is tilted such that its axis is inclined at
30° to HP. Draw the projections.
7 A triangular prism of 35 mm side of base and axis 56 mm long rests on its base on HP with a 14M
side of the base perpendicular to VP. It is cut by an auxiliary inclined plane such that the true
shape of section is a trapezium of parallel sides of 28 mm and 8 mm. Draw the sectional top
and front views and an auxiliary view showing the true shape of section. Determine the angle
made by section plane with HP.
OR
8 A pentagonal pyramid side of base 25 mm and length of axis 50 mm lies on one of its triangular 14M
faces on HP with its axis parallel to VP. A section plane perpendicular to HP and inclined to VP
at 30° cuts the pyramid bisecting its axis. Draw its top view, sectional front view and true shape
of section.
9 The inside of the hopper of a flour mill is lined with tin sheet. Top and bottom of the hopper are 14M
circles of 50 cm and 30 cm diameters respectively. Height of the hopper is 48 cm. Draw the
shape of the sheet to which it is to be cut to fit in the hopper.
OR
10 A vertical chimney of 70 cm diameter joins a roof sloping at 35° with horizontal. The shortest 14M
portion over the roof is 32 cm. Obtain the shape of the sheet metal from which the chimney can
be fabricated.
