1. Overview

This document outlines the functional requirements for introducing


Conditional-Based Model Execution within BREx. The feature aims to
improve performance by conditionally executing ML models based on
configurable rules, ensuring that only relevant models are invoked during
policy execution.

2. Current Functionality

Currently, in BREx:

●​ When multiple models are used within a policy or configuration, the


system pre-calculates dependencies.​

●​ As a result, all models are executed, regardless of whether their


outputs are required based on the context.​

●​ This behavior leads to unnecessary execution time and performance


overhead.​

3. Proposed Enhancements

●​ Enable conditional execution of models.​

●​ Conditions can be configured based on rule triggers, loan details,


application status, customer type, etc.​

●​ A model will only execute if the defined condition is satisfied,


reducing system load and improving performance.​

4. Detailed Scenario

Use Case:

●​ The system should execute the model only if the application is for a
Personal Loan and the requested loan amount is greater than
₹2,00,000.​

Personal Loan ₹2.5 Lakhs ✅ Yes


Personal Loan ₹1.5 Lakhs ❌ No
Home Loan ₹10 Lakhs ❌ No
5. UI Changes

Model Field Configuration Screen:

●​ Introduce a new optional panel labeled "Condition".​

●​ Add a button: “Add Condition”.​

●​ On click, a condition builder UI (similar to existing criteria panel) will


appear.​

●​ The user can define one or more logical conditions.​
