Good morning.

Today, I will be presenting the Cybercrime Threat

Landscape Report covering the years 2024 to 2025.
In this presentation, I will highlight notable monthly incidents involving
cybercrimes, along with the arrests of suspects linked to these offenses.
This report essentially outlines month-by-month cases as part of the
accomplishments of various Philippine agencies in combating
cybercrime.

We’ll begin with events from January to December 2024, followed by

an overview of the cyber threat landscape from January to June
2025. I encourage everyone to pay attention and take note of key
incidents and developments related to cybercrime attacks and law
enforcement operations throughout this period.

Cybercrime Threat Landscape year 2024

Displayed on screen is the report for January, where the

Philippines ranked 4th globally in the number of recorded cyber-
attacks, based on government data. Despite this alarming figure, the
country continues to struggle with a shortage of skilled cybersecurity
professionals to effectively address these growing threats.

As of January 2024, five government agencies were hit by malware

attacks, affecting around 3,000 computer systems, according to the
Department of Information and Communications Technology
(DICT). The same report emphasized the critical need for about 200,000
cybersecurity specialists nationwide to strengthen defenses and
protect vital systems against future cyber threats.
