Writing topic: Qualities a person need to become successful in today’s


world cannot be learnt at university or academic institution. To what
extent do you agree or disagree with this idea.

There is an idea that universities and other learning environments cannot provide
students with the necessary skills to become successful. In my opinion, I agree that
success requires many real-life skille, but refuse the notion that knowledge
acquired in universities is totally meaningless

On one hand, people should attend academic institutions if they want to be


successful. Students can gain basic knowledge about their fields in universities.
Academic centres organise classes and projects for learners to enhance their
understanding, so it is more convenient to approach fundamental knowledge
without having to put too much efforts. Also, when studying in universities, they
are usually advised and supported by experienced professors and tutors. They
therefore have a higher chance to have their questions quickly answered by
experts.

On the other hand, while having theoretical knowledge, people still need practical
skills in working environment. No matter how good the university is, it cannot
bring students managerial skills to deal with realistic challenges. People should
participate in actual projects or be on probation in companies to know how to
handle relationships between others and how to solve working issues. In addition,
even as schooling was over people should continue to self-study instead of just
depends on primary knowledge, hoping to reach their goals.

In conclusion, I think people should be trained in both academic institutions and


social community to improve their qualities to be successful in current world.
