Transformations
Directions: The coordinates are given for the following figures. On a sheet of graph paper, show the image
after performing the composite transformations. Be sure to label the coordinates of the final image with their
coordinate names and values on the graph paper.
1. Pre-image: A(0, 0), B(8, 1), C(5, 5)
Transformation: T(6, –1) o Rx-axis o r(180°, O)
2. Pre-image: D(-12,6), E(-4,6), F(-6,9), G(-10,9)
Transformation: Rx-axis o Ry-axis o D.5
3. Pre-image: H(2,2), I(-2,2), J(-2,-2), K(2,-2)
Transformation: Rx = 1 o T(2, 2) o r(-90°, O)
Decide whether each of the images has rotational symmetry, reflectional symmetry, both, or neither. If it has
rotational symmetry, solve for the angle of rotation. If it has reflectional symmetry, state the axis of symmetry,
or draw it on the image. It is possible there is more than one axis of reflection.
