I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates an understanding of skill and tasks and challenges appropriate for middle and
late adolescence, and preparatory to early adulthood.
B. Performance Standard: The learner shall be able to make a list of ways to become responsible adolescents prepared for
adult life and manage the demands of teen years.

DAY 1 TOPIC: DEVELOPMENTAL STAGES IN MIDDLE AND LATE ADOLESCENCE – DEVELOPMENTAL


TASKS.
OBJECTIVES: 1. classify various developmental tasks according to developmental stage.
2. evaluate your development in comparison to persons in the same age group.
3. list ways to become a responsible adolescent prepared for adult life.
SET
Check all attendees.
Ask a volunteer to lead a prayer.
Ask the students to submit their portfolio.
Icebreaker “Teen Truth or Myth” students respond if the statement is a fact or misconception, example “All
teens are moody”.
Ask the students “What are some changes you’ve noticed in yourself this year?”.
REVIEW:
Revisit the “Circle of self” from last week PETA 2.

Ask the students “Which part of yourself do you think grew the most is it your body, thoughts, feelings,
values?”.
MOTIVATE
Ask the students “Do you think growing up means more responsibilities? Why?”.
EXPLAIN
Present the learning objectives.
Ask the students to open the textbook section about developmental tasks during adolescence page 28-29.
Each student reads and identifies at least 2 physical, emotional, or social tasks expected at their age.
Ask the students (1) Which task do you think you’re already doing well? (2) Which task is still challenging for
you?.
Students share their answers individually with the class.
Write their answers on the board and categorize them by middle or late adolescence.
APPLY
Each student fills out a worksheet listing (1) 3 tasks I’m doing now (2) 2 tasks I still need to develop.
Ask the student to write short reflections on how they feel about these tasks.
GENERALIZE
Ask the students “Why is it important to understand the tasks we are expected to accomplish at our age?”.
Assignment:
Interview a parent or older sibling: “What were your responsibilities when you were my age?”.

DAY 2 TOPIC: TRANSITION FROM CHILDHOOD TO ADOLESCENCE STAGE


OBJECTIVES: 1. classify various developmental tasks according to developmental stage.
2. evaluate your development in comparison to persons in the same age group.
3. list ways to become a responsible adolescent prepared for adult life.
SET
Check all attendees.
Ask a volunteer to lead a prayer.
Check if students submitted Their interview assignment.
Ask the students “Which responsibility surprised you the most from your interview?”.

MOTIVATE
Ask the students “What do you miss about childhood? What do you like about adolescence?”.
EXPLAIN
Present the learning objectives.
Ask the students to read the section on transitioning from childhood to adolescence page 31 on their
textbook.
Creates a simple venn diagram on the board (1) childhood (2) adolescence (3) common traits.
Students suggest characteristics and responsibilities that belong in each circle.
Ask students (1) What is one thing you had to give up as you grew older? (2) What is one thing you’ve
gained?.
APPLY
Ask each student draws their own version of a “Bridge from Childhood to Adolescence” showing what they
left behind and what they’re learning now.
GENERALIZE
Ask the students “Why is it important to understand the stage you’re in right now?”.
Assignment:
Create a short paragraph or comic strip: “How I Am Growing Up”.

DAY 3 TOPIC: BECOMING RESPONSIBLE ADOLESCENTS


OBJECTIVES: 1. classify various developmental tasks according to developmental stage.
2. evaluate your development in comparison to persons in the same age group.
3. list ways to become a responsible adolescent prepared for adult life.
SET
Check all attendees.
Ask a volunteer to lead a prayer.
Check if students submitted their comic or paragraph.
Ask the students “What does responsibility mean to you?”.

Ask students to describe the difference between childhood and adolescence based on their bridge drawing.
MOTIVATE
Ask the students “Do you feel more responsible this year than last year? Why or why not?”.
EXPLAIN
Present the learning objectives.
Ask the students to open the section on becoming responsible adolescents page 32 in their textbook.
Write on the board (1) home responsibilities (2) school responsibilities (3) community responsibilities.
Each students shares one real example from their life for each category.
Ask the students “How do these responsibilities help prepare you for adult life?”.
APPLY
Ask the students to do the activity 3.2 my commitment to becoming a responsible adolescent in their
textbook page 33.
GENERALIZE
Ask the students “What are 2 things you can start doing this week to become more responsible?”.
Assignment:
Prepare for PETA: Bring photos, paper, drawings, or objects that represent their responsibilities.

DAY 5 TOPIC: PETA 3 “GROWING UP, GROWING ME”


OBJECTIVES: 4. make a list of ways to become a responsible adolescent prepared for adult life.
5. manage the demands of the teen years through reflection and planning.
SET
Check all attendees.
Ask a volunteer to lead a prayer.
Check if students brought required materials for PETA 3.
REVIEW:
Ask students “What are the most important responsibilities we’ve learned this week?”.
MOTIVATE
Ask the students “If someone younger asked you for advice about growing up, what would you say?”.
EXPLAIN
Present the learning objectives.

Explain that each student will create a visual collage/poster titled “Growing Up, Growing Me” it should
include (1) 3 responsibilities they currently have (2) 2 tasks they want to improve on (3) 1 dream or goal for
adulthood (4) Any symbols, picture, or drawings thaw represent their teenage growth.
APPLY
Students will do the PETA.
GENERALIZE
Students present their output, and give immediate feedback.
Ask the students “What did you learn about yourself while doing this project?”.
Assignment:
None- unless output not yet finished, as the students to submit next meeting.
