Participant 1: Among my choices for college, I am interested in exploring how businesses
operate internally and externally through this particular course.
Participant 2: I am inspired to take Hospitality management courses because it focuses on
developing skills that are highly valued in the industry, such as communication, problem-
solving, leadership, and teamwork.
Participant 3: Because my dream is to have my own business and learn more about monopolistic
competition

3. Do you think that the ABM strand contributed to or helped the students prepare
themselves for college? Explain.
Participant 1: Certainly, my time at FEU Manila has shaped my skills in business. The
comprehensive training provided firsthand experience in various aspects of business operations,
fostering a deep understanding of business management.
Participant 2: ABM curriculum provides an understanding of business concepts, principles, and
practices including marketing, accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship. These are directly
applicable to the Hospitality Management course as the industry involves managing businesses
such as hotels, restaurants, and event planning companies.
Participant 3: I think yes because it enhanced our mind about money and also saving money for
the future and it makes college students to be more practical

comes to presenting their own ideas.

4. What are the differences when it comes to activities you did when you were an ABM
student compared to now as a college student?
Participant 1: Contrasting my high school experience, where the emphasis was on establishing
and managing businesses, my current focus in college, particularly in my first year, revolves
around the intricacies of managing a business's workforce, aligning with my chosen major.
Participant 2: Starting to plan a business activity, especially when it comes to selling products
has been a big help for me, I use my insights about marketing and insights that help to build
product selling.
Participant 3: The difference between abm and entrepreneurship activity is abm It involves
personalized marketing and sales efforts tailored to the needs and characteristics of individual
target accounts. in activity and entrepreneurship is Entrepreneurs typically identify opportunities,
innovate, and take risks to create and grow a business.

Participant 1: While I find academics manageable due to my extensive experience since primary
school, adapting to a new academic environment and system poses the primary challenge,
potentially affecting my academic performance.
Participant 2: My course incorporates hands-on learning experiences, such as internships,
practicums, and Kitchen Laboratory. It is so challenging to balance my time for my workload
and also my hands-on learning experiences.
Participant 3: College is challenging because of the environment and also the teaching skills of
the professor's

Participant 5: I could say I is a bit hard since I came from a stem strand without basic
knowledge about programming and computer stuff.

expectations, and greater independence required compared to high school.

6. How did you overcome those challenges in college?


Participant 1: Building connections with my peers allows me to familiarize myself with the
college environment and establish meaningful bonds.
Participant 2: I overcome these challenges to give time management every time. Time and
schedule for different events are essential.

taking breaks when feeling fatigued to maintain academic performance.

developing transferable skills that are valued across business principles.
Participant 3: My advice or tip to students who wants to take business course is focuse more on
planning and budgeting and be more practical
Participant 4: A tip I could give to ABM students is to study hard and practice speaking infront
of a crowd because a business related course will focus more on speaking infront of people about
the business/product you offer
Participant 5: I advice as A BSCPE student to be more practical and be logicl when facing real
life situations.
Participant 6: ABM students aiming for business-related courses should focus on developing a

8. What aspects of the ABM strand do you think has to strengthen in order to successfully
execute college readiness when it comes to:

Participant 1: It is essential for teachers to undergo professional development to enhance their


teaching skills and subject expertise.
Participant 2: Teachers in major subjects of ABM should have a deep understanding of the
subjects they teach, including business management, economics, and entrepreneurship. Subject
mastery of teachers will effectively teach their students.
Participant 3: Instead, educators should concentrate on developing students' critical thinking
abilities, encouraging their ability to solve problems in the real world, incorporating technology
into the classroom, and offering chances for students to apply business principles practically
through projects or internships. Furthermore, assisting students in acquiring strong collaboration
and communication skills can be extremely beneficial to their performance in college and
beyond.
Participant 4: For teacher, teach students how to impromptu infront of many people because
there are situations you cannot predict so you have yo think on the spot
