3d Modeling + Rendering

We often work with wild concepts: shattering glass, the latest supercars, fire in the scene...
you name it!

Tasks

Daily building of different concept scenes. Sometimes it's simple, so you'll be finished
quickly, and sometimes it's more complex. After building, it's important to render the image
from the right angle, so our other artist can use it as a background in Photoshop.

● Modeling 3D settings
● Hyper-realistic textures
● Hyper-realistic rendering

Software we prefer:

● Autodesk for building

● Arnold for rendering

If you don't have these, then you can also use:

● Blender
● Unreal Engine
● or something els

We provide:

● Sketches
● Explanations

You deliver daily:

● High-end renders (4k and 15k)

● 5 to 7 render per week

We'll receive many applications. Stand out by detailing your capabilities, limitations, and
workflow. Include examples of your work.

Questions for you:

● Which software will you use for these tasks?

● How much time do you need to deliver a finished render?
● Do you have any questions for us?
Conditions

● Daily updates
● Quick communication
● You cannot publish this work in your portfolio due to our client's NDA.

Budget: $500 per month

You cannot outsource this project!

Common questions

Maintaining daily updates and quick communication is challenging due to the iterative nature of 3D modeling, where modifications based on client feedback can be frequent. Quick communication is essential to handle feedback efficiently and integrate it into daily deliverables without delaying the project timeline. Additionally, working under a monetary constraint of $500 per month further intensifies the pressure to optimize time spent on projects while ensuring that deliverables are of high quality .

Sketches and explanations provide crucial guidance and clarity for the daily building of concept scenes. They help in aligning the 3D artist's work with the client's vision and expectations, facilitating more accurate and relevant modeling. This alignment minimizes the risk of major revisions and ensures that the daily deliverables are on target with what is expected by the other artists who use these renders as backgrounds in Photoshop .

Not being able to outsource tasks in a 3D modeling project places the entire workload on a single individual, which could lead to burnout, especially when working with complex and time-consuming scenes. It limits the ability to leverage a team’s diverse skill sets and can result in slower project completion times if unexpected issues arise. This restriction mandates exceptional time management and technical skills to meet the demands of delivering multiple high-quality renders weekly, all while adhering to budgetary constraints .

To showcase expertise without violating NDAs, artists can create similar personal or speculative projects that reflect the complexity and skills utilized in restricted work. They can focus on building a portfolio showcasing versatility and technique through free-form or thematic projects that do not reference proprietary or client-specific elements. Engaging in online 3D art communities and participating in contests with original work can also demonstrate skill level and artistic vision, providing evidence of expertise and quality without breaching confidentiality agreements .

The choice of software directly affects the workflow and quality of 3D modeling and rendering. Using Autodesk for building coupled with Arnold for rendering can produce highly detailed and hyper-realistic textures and renders, given their capabilities in handling complex scenes and lighting. Software like Blender and Unreal Engine can also be used, potentially offering different strengths such as real-time rendering in Unreal Engine, which could speed up the workflow. However, the software's impact on quality will depend on the user's proficiency and how well the software's features are utilized, affecting the final high-end renders delivered daily .

A budget of $500 per month significantly impacts the scope and execution of 3D modeling tasks by necessitating careful cost management. This budget constraint may limit the artist's ability to invest in high-end software subscriptions and hardware upgrades essential for delivering the required quality and volume of renders. It also affects time allocation, as artists must balance delivering quality work with being financially viable, potentially impacting the complexity and length of the projects undertaken .

Delivering high-end renders at 4k and 15k resolutions requires powerful hardware to effectively handle the extensive data processing associated with high-resolution textures and detailed scenes. This necessitates choosing software that is optimized for performance, such as Autodesk paired with Arnold, or Blender with appropriate render engines like Cycles or Eevee that can efficiently manage high-resolution output. Artists must ensure their hardware can support these demands, potentially influencing decisions on upgrading graphics cards and CPUs to avoid bottlenecks during rendering .

Delivering 5-7 high-quality renders per week implies stringent time management and efficiency are imperative. Artists must strategically plan their workflows to allocate sufficient time for modeling, texturing, rendering, and revisions. This involves anticipating potential challenges in rendering complex scenes, managing rendering times (especially with 15k outputs), and optimizing the process to meet deadlines consistently. Effective task prioritization and utilization of rendering software features to optimize productivity are crucial skills needed to meet these requirements .

The NDA restricts 3D artists from showcasing specific client work in their portfolio, which can limit their ability to demonstrate real-world project experience to potential clients or employers. As portfolios serve as a primary tool for showcasing skills and attracting new opportunities, this restriction requires artists to creatively find ways to demonstrate similar skills without violating the NDA. This could involve creating comparable personal projects or simulations that mirror the complexity and skill level of restricted work .

In the competitive field of 3D modeling, many applicants vie for limited positions. Applicants must highlight their specific capabilities, limitations, and workflow to differentiate themselves. This shows a clear understanding of their own skills and readiness to align with project needs. Employers seek candidates who are not only technically proficient but also self-aware, indicating they can effectively manage time, communicate in alignment with project needs, and adapt swiftly to any challenges due to limitations .
