TIME : 1H 30M CLASS : X MM : 50
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :
1. Read all the questions carefully before attempting.
2. Attempt all questions unless otherwise mentioned.
3. Diagrams must be drawn wherever necessary.
4. Write answers neatly and legibly in the provided space.
5. Mention correct question numbers clearly in your answers.

1. In △ ABC, right-angled at B, if tanA = , find the value of:
√(3)
(i) sin A cos C + cos A sin C
(ii) cos A cos C – sin A sin C

2. 𝐼𝑓 tan(𝐴 + 𝐵) = √3 𝑎𝑛𝑑 tan(𝐴 − 𝐵) = ; 0° < 𝐴 + 𝐵 ≤ 90°; 𝐴 > 𝐵, 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝐴 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐵.
√3
3. (𝑠𝑖𝑛𝐴 + 𝐶𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑐𝐴)2 + (𝑐𝑜𝑠𝐴 + 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝐴)2 = 7 + tan2 𝐴 + cot 2 𝐴, 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑓 𝑖𝑡.
4. Evaluate the following :
(𝑖) 𝑠𝑖𝑛60°𝑐𝑜𝑠30° + 𝑠𝑖𝑛30°𝑐𝑜𝑠60 (𝑖𝑖)2 tan2 45 ° + cos2 30° − sin2 60 °
5. A statue, 1.6 m tall, stands on the top of a pedestal. From a point on the ground, the angle of
elevation of the top of the statue is 60° and from the same point the angle of elevation of the
top of the pedestal is 45°. Find the height of the pedestal.
6. Represent the following situations in the form of quadratic equations :
The area of a rectangular plot is 528 m2 . The length of the plot (in meters) is one more than
twice its breadth. We need to find the length and breadth of the plot.
7. Find the values of k for each of the following quadratic equations, so that they have two
equal roots.
(i) 2x2 + kx + 3 = 0 (ii) kx (x – 2) + 6 = 0

8. Find the zeroes of the following quadratic polynomials and verify the relationship between
the zeroes and the coefficients.
(i) 𝑥 2 − 2𝑥 − 8 (ii) 3𝑠 2 − 𝑠 − 4
9. A vessel is in the form of a hollow hemisphere mounted by a hollow cylinder. The diameter
of the hemisphere is 14 cm and the total height of the vessel is 13 cm. Find the inner surface
area of the vessel.
10. A Gulab jamun, contains sugar syrup up to about 30% of its volume. Find approximately
how much syrup would be found in 45 gulab jamuns, each shaped like a cylinder with two
hemispherical ends with length 5 cm and diameter 2.8 cm (see Fig).
