Information Systems Development:
The content of this course can be sub-divided into the following major areas:
Systems development: the technical, behavioral and organizational aspects
of systems development will be studied
Information Systems Strategy: the technical and organizational aspects of
strategy development will be explored;
Successful Systems Implementation: best practice and organizational impact
will be explored;
Information security: the technical, behavioral and legal aspects of
information security will be studied.
Programming for Business Analytics:
The principles and conventions of effective structured programming within a
Business Analytics context; basic programming structures (variables,
sequential code, conditional statements, iterations and modular
programming); the writing, editing and debugging of programs (in Python) to
support effective analytics on business data; ethical considerations around
Business Analytics.
Data Analysis for Management:
Statistical inference, chi-squared, correlation and regression, multiple
regression, building regression models, regression diagnostics, forecasting
and forecast accuracy, ANOVA.
Consumer Behaviour:
During the module we will explore how and why consumers behave in the
ways that they do. This will involve an in-depth look at internal and external
influences on consumers behavior (e.g. perception, motivation, attitudes,
persuasion, groups and society) and consumers decision making process.
The Marketing Mix:
Designing communication and promotional mix strategies. Brand
Management. New product development. Pricing strategy and approaches.
Distribution channels. Services marketing. Product Life Cycle and portfolio
theory.
