Procedure:
Introduction (5 minutes)
o Begin with a captivating image or short video clip from YouTube
showcasing a scene from a popular children's story. This will grab
their attention and set the stage.
o Use Google Slides to display a brief overview of the lesson's
objectives and the different parts of a story that will be covered.
Include clear, concise definitions.
2. Interactive Exploration (15 minutes)
o Activity: Divide students into small groups. Assign each group
one element of a story (plot, characters, setting, conflict, theme).
o Using Google Slides, each group will collaboratively create a slide
dedicated to their assigned element. They’ll define it, provide
examples from a previously read class story, and create a visual
representation using Canva (sketch a character, a setting map, a
plot diagram).
o Groups will share their slides, fostering a collaborative learning
environment.
3. Application and Practice (15 minutes)
o Activity: Use Quizizz to conduct a short, engaging quiz to assess
their understanding of the different parts of a story. The quiz will
include multiple-choice questions, images, and short answer
prompts to cater to different learning styles.
o The Quizizz results can provide immediate feedback and identify
areas where further instruction might be needed.
4. Creative Synthesis (10 minutes)
o Activity: Students will individually use Canva to create a visual
representation of a short story they've read (or a story they
create). This visual should incorporate all the elements of a story
they've learned about. They can use images, text, and other
design elements to showcase their understanding.

Differentiation:
For students who need more support: Provide pre-filled templates
for Google Slides and Canva, offer one-on-one assistance, and break
down the tasks into smaller, more manageable steps.
For students who are ready for a challenge: Encourage them to
create more complex visuals in Canva, incorporate additional
elements, or research and present on a specific author's style.
