hello guys it is Muhammad in the Benos f1 podcast and today we

will talk about f1 safety. Now there will be a lot of things

that we are talking about, and we won’t go to deep in them and
just scrape the surface. These things would be f1 Marshall and
spectator safety, f1 driver safety and their equipment, pit
crew safety and f1 car safety. And at the end we will rank
which are the most important and least important
Now let’s talk about f1 Marshall safety this is a big
prospect in f1 safety since Marshall have to run into the
track collect all the debris left over from a crash then also
have to go to the crash to see if everything is fine and if
the driver is ok to give a thumbs up or down. Now haw can we
solve it I would say give them reflective material a helmet
with a good coverage for protection but enough to have maximum
visibility. I would also keep them in good shape and stamina
so if they need to collect debris they can do it really fast.
Now what about spectator safety it is also important since the
FIA don’t want their spectators dyeing from major crash’s now,
they already have put the spectators’ seats mainly in straight
which are the most least place a crash happen and the also
have a long fence now those spectators are safe enough, so we
don’t talk about them. But what about photography spectators
since I saw a place where they cut hole into the fence to take
pictures of the f1 car so I think that the FIA should make
areas for this since that can make the fence weaker and slowly
will destroy it. And another spectator would be people who
claim on billboards and trees to watch the race now this is a
big problem since if they fall it is their fault now, I won’t
they need to be protected but the FIA would do nothing so they
should just tell them that it is their fault.
(California girls you unforgettable) oh now let’s get started
with pit crew safety now this is also an important one. Now
what is a pit crew a pit crew are people who are the fixers
and repairers when a cars tyre gets ruined and also used to
refuel but that got a ban because of accident in the pit crew.
I think they mainly should wear some thing like a fireproof
suit, and I think they do wear helmets they should always have
people ready with a fire extinguisher. Now they other pit crew
or not I would say is the data collectors my nickname for them
know they are out in the open with nothing to protect them
against drivers but only against the sun like is it going to
kill you. I just think that they should go inside the team bas
area and do data collecting but I couldn’t find a lot about
why they are outside but go inside please.
Now f1 driver safety and their equipment are another important
thing now with my research I found out that drivers all
together use almost 100 suit a year. Now a suit and other
pieces of equipment are fully detailed to fit the driver and
keep him comfortable for the entirety of the race since I also
heard that if a problem occurs then the people who made it
have to do a full check and if it doesn’t look like it they
will still have to fully change since I think the persons who
wears it might now better. Now the helmet is an entirely
different item since not only does it have to comfortable to
the driver, they have to change it every race since sometimes
driver want a design on it and the also have add a mike which
won’t interfere with the driver and even it can be strong
enough to protect the driver. Now mainly driver safety depends
on the but there was a crash that the car and the equipment
the Roman Grosjean (aka the man who walked out of fire)
accident in 2020 Bahrain Grand prix since not an only an
aspect of the car which I will explain but also his suit
protected him since he would not be able to make out of the
fire.
Now the main thing the big f1 car safety the most important
everything connects to it everything this is the big boss the
final boss the final. Now the f1 car has upgraded a lot like
the halo the same thing that helped Romen the halo which is
made with titanium and a Kevlar coating which helps the
drivers a lot. Now the halo would have saved another driver
named Jules Bianchi who died with an impact from his head to
the crane which gave him head injuries and he died. Now one
time the fuel tank was made from alloy which is easy to
puncture now this happened with Niki Lauda when his wheel
thing punctured the fuel tank making it blow (1 second pause)
well he didn’t die so you know it matters a lot now the fuel
tank has been upgraded a lot. Now a really big thing made
which I think is the Hans, which is something that help you,
so you don’t die with whiplash. The halo can also save one of
the best f1 drivers of his time the death that changed f1
itself Ayrton Senna since the right front wheel got of and hit
him in the head giving bad head damage (10 sec pause). Now I
would say this can still be saved by adding in the driver’s
cockpit which is a big place now I had vision where it fully
covered, and it is shaped like a missile you know for
zooooooooooooooooom, but I don’t know aero dynamics so don’t
ask me
