MOTIVATION: 4 pics 1 word
*Group Division: The class will be divided into two groups. Each group will be given a flag to use during
the game.
*Flag Race to Answer: When the first picture of each word puzzle is shown, the group that raises their flag
first will have the opportunity to answer.
*Answer Time Limit: The group that raises their flag first has 5 seconds to guess the word correctly. If they
answer correctly, they earn a point.
*Opportunity to Steal: If the first group does not answer within the 5 seconds or answers incorrectly, the
other group has the opportunity to "steal" and give their answer. They also have 5 seconds to respond.
*Winning the Game: The first group to reach 3 points will be declared the winner.

Define what is short story:
a short story is a concise narrative that tells a complete tale, often with a clear conflict and resolution, and is
typically designed to evoke a strong emotional or intellectual response from the reader.
Define each element of a short story

*The teacher will group the class into two groups. Each group will be given 5 minutes to prepare a short
role-play scene that demonstrates specific elements of a short story assigned to them.
Group 1: Focus on character and dialogue. Create a scene that showcases clear character personalities and
interactions through dialogue.
Group 2: Focus on setting and conflict. Develop a scene that highlights a specific setting and a clear conflict
or problem.
Group 3: Focus on climax and denouement. Create a scene that builds up to a peak moment of tension and
then resolves it, showcasing the outcome of the conflict.
*Each group will have 3 minutes to perform their scene in front of the class. During the performance,
students should use expressive techniques, including voice modulation, facial expressions, and gestures, to
enhance their portrayal of the assigned element.
