Feasibility Study for Kebado System

The document outlines the importance of requirements specification and analysis in software development, emphasizing that errors in this phase can lead to project failures. It details the feasibility studies conducted for a proposed system, including technical, economic, operational, legal, and political aspects, confirming that the project is viable and aligns with government policies. The system aims to improve land management services in Kebado town by providing online access to information for users.

1 Introduction
Requirements specification and analysis identify, analyze, and model the functionality or
what's of a prospective software system. The requirements specification and analysis phase
of a software project is the most important phase of software development and should not
be omitted under any condition. More than half of all software projects have failed because
of errors in requirements specification and analysis. The result of this phase is the software
requirements specifications document or the SRS that serves as the starting point for the
next phase of software development, namely, software design. It is important to note that
the requirements specification and analysis phase focuses only on what the software system
should do and not on how it should be done; that is, implementation details are not allowed
to affect this phase. Software requirements can be classified into two types: functional
requirements and nonfunctional requirements, and the SRS include both types of
requirements, analysis artifacts, and models.

1.2 Feasibility Study

An analysis and evaluation of a proposed system to determine if it:-
I. Is technically feasible,
II. Is feasible within the estimated cost, and
III. It will be profitable.

Then it is called feasible.

It is an analysis of the ability to complete a project successfully, taking into account legal,
economic, technological, scheduling and other factors. Rather than just diving into a
project and hoping for the best, a feasibility study allows project managers to investigate
the possible negative and positive outcomes of a project before investing too much time
and money.

1.2.1 Technical Feasibility Study

The entire group members are expected to the system to be technically feasible. The
system is going to be developed by following the Object-Oriented System Development
technique. And the team has the ability to develop this system without any difficulty
since the team has studied the required methodologies and tools. So the system will be
technically feasible. The project members also have knowledge about PHP, JavaScript,
CSS and MySQL database. Besides, the group members have enough capability to
develop the project. So the system is technically feasible.
1.2.2 Economic Feasibility Study
The economic feasibility study is essential to evaluate the cost and benefits of the new
system.
 Intangible Cost
It is an uncountable cost that will be acquired in developing the system. It comprises the
knowledge, skill, and effort of stakeholders. The advice of an advisor and the knowledge
and efforts of the group members apply to develop the system may not be measurable in
terms of money.
 Tangible benefit
It is a measurable benefit that can be expressed in terms of money.
 Cost Reduction
 Error Reduction
 Increase Speed of activity

 Intangible benefit
The Intangible is recognized as a value that clearly exists but not quantifiable.
The systems we will develop have many intangible benefits. These are:
 Increasing the competitiveness of the individual.
 Improving the morale of workers in the organization.
 Faster decision making in the organization.
 Facilitating information processing of the organization system.
 Reduce Resource Consumption
 Increase security
 Increase Management flexibility
 Satisfies the kebado town Land Owner’s in the way that they trust the
system is secure and accurate on giving service.
The project will be economically feasible since its expected benefits outweigh. Therefore,
the system to be developed is economically feasible.
1.2.3 Operational Feasibility Study
Operational feasibility is mainly concerned with how the system will solve the problem
of the Kebado town land management office. Our system will solve problems and gives
satisfaction to the users. Users who use this system get service at their homes by
accessing information online. The proposed system will likely solve the Kebado town
land management office’s problem or take advantage of the opportunity outlined in the
system service request or project identification study. The user should not misuse the
system.

1.2.4 Legal Feasibility Study

The system to be developed does not conflict with any government directives, because
the system is free from any legal and contractual risks. Therefore, the system is legally
feasible.
1.2.5 Political Feasibility Study
Our project will be accepted by a set of decision-makers and the general public’s in
Kebado town. According to government policy selling and/or buying land is not allowed.
Paying the tax for the land is an obligation for every landowner. The system that we will
develop can’t oppose the above mentioned governmental policy. The reason is that the
system gives any information for the user that is provided by the manager. The manager
is a legal person and obeys the rules and regulations of government policy. The
proclamation number for Urban Land lease is 721/2004, our system work based on this
and other proclamation rules. From this point of view, our project is politically feasible.
