An adjective is a word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun.

It gives
more information about the quality, quantity, size, color, shape, origin, or
condition of something.
Functions of Adjectives:
 Answer what kind?, how many?, which one?, or whose?
Examples:
 Quality: a beautiful painting
 Size: a large room
 Color: a red apple
 Quantity: three books
 Origin: a Pakistani dish
 Condition: a broken chair
Types of Adjectives:
1. Descriptive Adjective – shows quality (happy, tall, cold)
2. Quantitative Adjective – shows quantity (some, many, few)
3. Demonstrative Adjective – points out something (this, that, these, those)
4. Possessive Adjective – shows ownership (my, your, his, her)
5. Interrogative Adjective – used in questions (which, what, whose)
6. Comparative and Superlative Adjective – used for comparison (taller,
tallest)
In a Sentence:
 She wore a blue dress.
 He is a smart student.
 I have two dogs.
Adjectives usually come before the noun they describe or after a linking verb like
is, seems, becomes (e.g., The sky is clear.)
