Other Commitments

My commitments in the academic year 2024-25 are Communiqué, International Relations Cell,
and academic projects. Also, I will be doing a month-long summer training this year in May
which will be my temporary priority, but I will make sure that I complete all my tasks on time.

Otherwise, my priority will be:

1. Academic Projects (research internship)

2. Communiqué
3. International relations cell.

Strength-Weakness-Opportunity Analysis
Strength:
 Time management: I am good at time management which helps me manage all my work
that is academic load, society work and others simultaneously.
 Optimism: Being optimistic helps me not to panic even in situations when there is less
time or some other pressure. Also, it helps me view things from multiple perspectives
while working.
 Problem Solving: I am a solution-oriented person and a quick learner, which never
prevents me from asking questions due to fear of unlocking new challenges.
 Empathic: While I am working in teams, I look upon the situation from other persons
perspective as well which helps me to manage work or collaborate better. Due to this, I
will be able to manage my juniors properly.
 Approachable: I am always ready to help others. Hardly was there any situation when
someone asked me for help, and I said no.

Weakness:
 Self-critical: Many a times, I find over analyzing myself which could demotivate me
uselessly.
  Perfectionist: I keep doing the same work for long until I achieve perfection in it which
at times leads me to waste a lot of time.
 Limited experience: There are many topics in which I do not have great knowledge. But
I am actively working to gain more and more experience about different stuff in diverse
portfolios.

Opportunity:
 Technical growth: Being a part of web team, I will have great options to learn about
web development and other things and also get to work on it thus enhancing my
skillset.
 Event management: I will get to manage various events both internal and external.
 Networking: Interacting with various people while doing groundwork, and then
interaction with sponsors etc. will help me increase my connections.

Personal takeaway from my time at Communiqué

Communiqué helped me boost my self-confidence by various internal events in which we were
supposed to express our thoughts. When I joined communiqué, many times i did not speak up
openly maybe the right thing as well due to the fear that it could be wrong. By participating in
events such as just a minute, best add on, case studies etc. where we were asked to speak or
some sort of cross questioning was done, I started speaking up about what is there in my mind.

Also, I learnt CSS, HTML and now JS also as members of web team and designing as a part of
design team and by making ppts for the case studies be it the internal event or Megalith case
study.

Another important takeaway from Communiqué so far is that there is good batchie bonding
and I made the best set of friends here thus making all the work to be done even more
interesting and filling me with enthusiasm to do it.

Events/activities I feel Communiqué should have done

 Communiqué should have conducted offline moot court which was cancelled.
 The case study (internal event) which was held online should have been held offline.
That would help us improve our impromptu speaking skills.
  A few more personality and communication skill development sessions as conducted by
Mr. Priyanshu Gautum.
 The Vision IAS quiz was held just before exams due to which we could get most of the
crowd. It would have been better if held at some different time.

Why am I a good fit in Communiqué

I have gained firsthand experience with society's goals and activities in my associate tenure by
doing all my duties well. By doing all the allotted tasks, I now somewhat understand the
challenges faced during the conduction of any event. This knowledge positions me aptly to be a
part of Communiqué as I can work towards eradicating those challenges and towards the
achievement of society’s goals.

By attending all the meetings, I have seen our secretary batch (the now gov batch) work hard to
organize any event be it internal or external. Being inspired by them I along with my
batchmates can conduct the meetings of the upcoming associate batch in an effective way
improving their soft skills , communication skills and developing their personality.

I am hardworking, sincere and dedicated towards my work and along with my fellow
batchmates, with keen interest, I will be able to work for the society because in 1 st year, I have
developed the feeling of Communiqué being my society and want to see it achieve great
heights.

Tasks done
CORE:
 I was in the finance and sponsorship team for GMUN, so I found contact details of
sponsors.
 Did mass mailing to companies seeking sponsorship for GMUN.
 Publicized GMUN across various social media platforms and made a few of my friends
register for it.
 Did door to door publi for GMUN and made people register for it.
 Did 3 shifts of main gate duty (waiting for the participants to come) at the time of
GMUN.
  Alongside participation in GMUN, I helped with the groundwork.
 Helped in preparing kits for delegates and doing other given works.
 Transported the people who came for GMUN from halls to venues.
 Made more people attend the webinars by our sponsors (Peta India and HitBullseye).
 Participated in internal event “Who will make the best add on?” and won first position.
 Participated in Zomato case study and won first position.
 Participated in megalith case study and won first position.
 Attended
 Publicized vision IAS online across various social media platforms.
 Did door to door publi for vision Ias.
 Did all other work that I was assigned.

WEB:
 Made a website using HTML and CSS about ‘the three favorite places in KGP’.
 Did a few changes like adding pictures of GMUN, changed the answers to FAQs etc. in
the old version of communiqué website.
 I learnt the basics of JS and am learning more.

DESIGN:
 Made Holi poster using Canva.
 Recreated the 2 posters given by making necessary changes using Canva.

Events which can be done

INTERNAL EVENT:
Mock Press Conference: It would be stimulation of real press conferences by dividing people
into groups of 5-6 people each. There will be one spokesperson (the one giving the interview)
and the remaining 4-5 reporters. A situation will be given and maybe a few minutes to prepare,
the reporters will have to think up questions related to it and ask, and the spokesperson will
have to answer. Depending on the group size, we can do several rounds, each of 8-10 minutes,
so everyone gets to be a spokesperson at least once.

This event will help to improve critical thinking ability, thus improving their communication
skills.
Turncoat debates: The skills on which this event will focus on mainly include adaptability, and
teamwork.

EXTERNAL EVENT:
Resume and Cover Letter Workshops: Like the fundae session which was held for associates by
our convenors and co convenors, it could be held for entire KGP.

Shortcomings of GMUN 2024

Shortcomings for GMUN include a lot of mismanagement.

 All the stuff to be given to delegates like folding placards, cutting id cards etc. can be
done beforehand to avoid last-minute chaos.
 Portfolio allocation should be done at least 2 weeks in advance, giving ample time to
delegates to prepare.
 The food did not come on time and even the quantity was not adequate. To eradicate
this, the number of delegates should be known so that food can be arranged properly
and the way it is served should be better( that is it should not be served in polythene
bags rather it could be given in disposable plates with lids), and all the cutlery required
should be arranged well before and in proper quantity.
 E certificates of GMUN should be provided soon after the event.
