Good afternoon to one & all present here. I Jayant Agrawal, as a co-ordinator of
this event, welcome you on behalf of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of
Baroda and institute of leadership and governance.

Director of ILG, to welcome and felicitate our esteemed Keynote Speaker Shri
Yeshi Dava.

Today on this occasion I would like to grab the opportunity & take this as an
honour to introduce one of the very charismatic personality, Dr. Jigar Inamdar.
INTRODUCTION

Sir is an academician, policy thinker, and youth mentor whose journey continues
to inspire countless individuals across the nation. He holds degrees in Commerce,
Law, and Political Science, and earned his Doctorate in Public Administration,
reflecting his deep engagement with governance and society.

He had served as Consultant cum Regional Director of the Indian Council for
Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He has
also held key academic leadership roles, including as a former Senate and
Syndicate Member of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Currently,
he serves as the Chairman of the Governing Body at Ramanujan College,
University of Delhi. Sir is also the Founding Director of the Institute of
Leadership and Governance at MSU Baroda.

He had earlier coordinated the activities of the Swami Vivekananda Gujarat State
Youth Board, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of Gujarat,
reflecting his passion for nation-building through youth empowerment.

His remarkable contribution was internationally recognised when he was


conferred the ASEAN–India Youth Award in 2019, in Guwahati — a prestigious
honour celebrating his impact in the field of youth engagement.

Sir stands as a guiding light for today’s generation, embodying knowledge,


service, and leadership.

Dr. Reena Bhatia is a distinguished academician and researcher with nearly three
decades of experience in clothing, textiles, and fashion technology. As an
educator, she is deeply committed to preserving India’s textile heritage while
fostering innovation and sustainability in design. Currently, she serves as an
Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Clothing and Textiles. She is
also the Associate Director of the Textile & Apparel Design Program at Institute
of Fashion Technology and Director of the Institute of Leadership and
Governance.
Dr. Bhatia’s teaching philosophy integrates experiential learning with cultural
sensitivity, ensuring students not only gain technical expertise but also develop a
deep appreciation for traditional crafts. Her research focuses on surface design,
textile crafts, and sustainable product development, empowering artisans by
bridging the gap between heritage skills and contemporary markets. She has
published over 30 papers, authored three books, and contributed to several
international magazines and edited volumes.
Her contributions have been recognized through numerous accolades, including
the Prof. Justina Singh Merit Scholarship, the Shiksha Ratan Puraskar, and the
Sustainable Research and Education Award “AMRITAM”. She also holds two
copyrights and two design patents, reinforcing her role as an innovator in the
field.
Beyond academia, Dr. Bhatia has held leadership positions such as Dean of
Students, Dean of Sports, and President of the Alumni Association of Clothing
and Textiles. She was an ex-officio Senate Member.
Through her extensive work in education, research, and governance, Dr. Bhatia
continues to inspire students and artisans alike, ensuring the sustainability and
evolution of India’s rich textile [Link] this I would like to invite you mam

Thank you mam . Now I would like to introduce Our keynote speaker of today’s
session shri yeshi dava

INTRODUCTION of yeshi dava,(2 min)

Yeshi Dawa is a Senior Researcher at the 108 Peace Institute. He previously


served as Bureau Chief at Radio Free Asia in Dharamshala and as a political
anchor at Tibet TV. He was also an affiliated fellow at the Tibet Policy Institute
under the Central Tibetan Administration.
In addition, he worked as the Academic Administrator at the Institute of
Leadership &
Governance, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He also held various
leadership
positions during the college days such as president of Tibetan College Students’
Research Committee and Global Youth Ambassadorship. His writings have
appeared in The Week, The Taipei Times, Firstpost, and other publications.
