Every character I will assign an instrument too and give a reason (this is coming from a band
and orchestra player)
My opinions!! Share yours if you disagree I would love to hear them :)
Armed Detective Agency
- Fukuzawa: Piano, I can’t really explain why
- Yosano: Electric Bass, what’s better than a hot female playing bass??
- Dazai: Clarinet, he would be the person who’s good at it but purposefully plays bad so
other people hate him
- Atsushi: Oboe. He plays it to be different, he’s not. Also plays it cause he wanted to be
like dazai without copying him.
- Kunikida: Conductor for the ADA. He likes his authority and fukuzawa lets him
- Junichiro: Piccolo, he doesn’t seem like a piccolo player but damn is he good at it
- Kenji: He would be a bass player, yes it’s taller than him but he finds a way to play
regardless.
- Ranpo: 100% viola, it’s different, but it fits him
- Koyoka: Oboe, Atsushi recruited her to play with him so he wasn’t as alone.
- Katai: Would also be a conductor but since Kunikida would always be there wouldn’t do
much.
- Naomi: Flute definitely, to pair with her “brother”
- Haruno: Violin, just because, why not?
Port Mafia
- Mori: Would be the conductor for PM
- Ace: Tamborin, i can’t imagine him playing anything else
- Chuuya: String bass, same as kenji he wants to show he can play an instrument that's
like 2x his height
- Kōyō: Would play piano tbh, that or the organ
- Rando: Snare drum, I know he was a pretty calm (and quite literally cold) guy but snare
drum is the only thing i can think of that fits him. He would play it to match chuuyas
screaming
- Akutagawa: Would play Viola, just gives those vibes. (would try to play duets with dazai
to show how good he is, dazai probably taught aku the viola)
- Higuchi: Viola, only because of Aku though, wants to show that she's worth it to be with
him.
- Hirotsu: Alto saxophone, this is the only instrument that i can think of him playing and he
plays it well.
- Gin: cello, she isn’t great, but it’s special to her and she loves playing simple songs
- Tachihara: Would play the bassoon, loves to do duets with gin
- Elise: Would probably play the chimes or the harp, mori probably made her tbh.
- Q: Would join Elise but doesn’t play much.
- Motojiro: Would find a way to make lemons into an instrument, if he fails he’d probably
play electric guitar
- Oda: the skeleton (this is a joke i promise) He would probably play marimba or some
weird obscure instrument in actuality.
- Ango: Trumpet, he is really really good at it, would do trios with dazai and Oda (before
death) in the dark era.
The Guild
- Francis Scott Key Fitz: Trumpet. Would proudly play Stars and Stripes Forever for the
members of the guild. Very american.
- Poe: Piccolo, would join Francis in play Stars and Stripes forever tbh. Also too classy for
a horn, but not fancy enough for a string instrument.
- Melville: drums or something that gives off a “tough guy” persona
- Lovecraft: bass clarinet… or string bass. He would have that low sound
- Steinbeck: would play something on the higher side to counter Lovecraft, either violin or
bugle horn
- Lucy: I have a feeling she would be percussion. I don’t know why but she gives off the
vibes of playing the chimes in Sleigh Ride in a band.
- Louisa May Alcott: She wouldn’t be very loud, but would be a tuba.
- Margaret Mitchell: Conductor for the guild, is the only thing she’ll do since she wouldn't
wanna play a wind or brass, and is too confused by string instruments.
- Mark Twain: i'm going to give him the trombone, I can’t really think of anything else that
fits him??
- Hawthorne: Didgeridoo, this is the only thing I can think of that fits him in my head.
Rats in the House of Dead
- Fyodor: cello, it is literally canon and he also give cello player vibes.

- Christie: French horn, she just would. Ex-Band kid in high school
Decay of the Angel
- Bram: Bram would play the triangle, im sorry but he would
- Fyodor (again yes): DoA Fyodor would play the flute just sayin (also cello)
- Nikolai: Violin or Viola, he gives off those “elegant” vibes also Bernadette
- Sigma: Flute player, no further explanation needed.
