3 GANTRY WARNING MESSAGES

3-1 Error codes from 100/yyy: Lift
Code Category Text in Log File or Possible Cause/Recommended Action Job Card
on LCD
100/001 HALT LIFT HARDWARE There is a relay defect at power-up. A relay (on the
ERROR board) is mounted in parallel with the H-bridge of the
motor. When this relay is closed it creates a short-cut
of the H-bridge. At power-up, the lift node injects
15 V to the H-Bridge, lift node shuts the relay and
checks that there is 0 V, the lift node re-opens the
relay and checks that there is 15 V. If not, this error is
produced.

This error typically occurs in conjunction with a HALT

POSTION error (such as rotation, compression,
etc.), in which case the Lift Board is NOT faulty. Pro-
ceed as follows:

1. Reboot the system and check the error logs to D/R A201
see if the 100/001 LIFT HARDWARE ERROR page 975
occurs within the same time as another POSI-
TION ERROR (e.g. rotation or compression).
2. If a POSITION ERROR (e.g. rotation or com- CAL A031
pression) does exist within the same time, ignore page
the 100/001 LIFT HARDWARE ERROR, do not 1211
change the Lift Board, and take appropriate
action to resolve the POSITION ERROR.
3. If a POSITION ERROR (e.g. rotation or com-
pression) does not exist within the same time,
the 100/001 LIFT HARDWARE ERROR is valid
and you must change the Lift Board and then
recalibrate the Lift.
100/002 HALT LIFT SENSOR Upper Optical Fork failure. At power-up, the lift node
DEFECT shuts down the LED of the optical fork, and checks
that the photoresistor shuts down (optical forks are
hardware limits hence they are never obturated).

Faulty FRU = Upper Optical Fork.

Change the FRU and reboot Gantry.
100/003 HALT LIFT SENSOR Lower Optical Fork failure. At power-up, the lift node
DEFECT shuts down the LED of the optical fork, and checks
that the photoresistor shuts down (optical forks are
hardware limits hence they are never obturated).

Faulty FRU = Lower Optical Fork.

Change the FRU and reboot Gantry..

100/009 HALT LIFT POSITION The Lift is over the upper software limit. Occurs
ERROR when lift position is not between the software limits at
power-up (including a tolerance to be defined). Typi-
cally, this can happen when lift has been moved
manually.

Remove the gantry covers; check the lift position. If

lift position locked into upper position, or close to the
upper position, move the lift down manually (turn the
lift screw) to about 2 cm below the upper optical fork.
100/010 HALT LIFT POSITION The Lift is below the lower software limit. Occurs
ERROR when lift position is not between the software limits at

101/004 WARNING NO VALID LINE There is no valid line. The Gantry CPU requests a A1015
FOR LIFT motion but node does not see the valid line (The page 761
valid line is a RT line that is activated by the CPLD of
the node containing the UIF during the time when the
UIF is pressed + a deceleration time). This does not
concern decompression and tilt.
This also occurs when the valid line falls before the
end of the movement.

Valid line problem. check the different motions, using

all keypads to determinate the defective node then
refer to JC DIAG A1015 LIFT CONTROL FAILURE
on page 761.

102/000 HALT LIFT SOFTWARE The watch-dog shall receive a pulse from microcon-
ERROR troller every 40 ms. If not, it resets the microcontrol-
ler, then node restarts and sends a boot-up signal to
gantry CPU. The only possible reason for a boot-up
of a node after system power-up is a reset by watch- D/R A201
dog. Therefore, when gantry CPU receives the boot- page 975
up signal, it produces the SWOverRun error.

This failure is linked to a FW problem (microcontrol- CAL A031

ler or CPLD). Change the Lift board then perform Lift page

3-2 Error codes from 110/yyy: Rotation

Code Category Text in Log File or Possible Cause/Recommended Action Job Card
on LCD
110/001 HALT ROTATION RELAY There is a relay defect at power-up. A relay (on the
DEFECT rotation board) is mounted in parallel with the H-
bridge of the motor. This relay, when shut, creates a
short-cut of the H-bridge. At power-up, the node
does the following:
- injects 15 V to the H-Bridge
- shuts the relay and checks that we have 0 V
- re-opens the relay and checks that we have 15 V. If
not, this signal is produced.

1. Reboot the system and check the error logs to

see if the 110/001 ROTATION RELAY DEFECT D/R A221
error occurs within the same time as another page
POSITION ERROR (e.g. rotation or compres- 1011
sion).
2. If a POSITION ERROR (e.g. rotation or com-
pression) does exist within the same time, ignore CAL A021
the 110/001 ROTATION RELAY DEFECT error, page
do not change the Rotation Board, and take 1203
appropriate action to resolve the POSITION
ERROR.
3. If a POSITION ERROR (e.g. rotation or com-
pression) does not exist within the same time,
the 110/001ROTATION RELAY DEFECT error is
valid and you must change the Rotation Board
and then re-calibrate the Rotation Arm.
110/006 HALT ARM TURNED The Arm is over the software's specified limit for the
RIGHT TOO FAR farmost right position. Occurs when the Arm position
is not between the software limits at power-up
(including a tolerance to be defined). Typically, this
can happen when Arm has been moved manually.

Shut down the Gantry, move lift down manually and

reboot the Gantry.
110/007 HALT ARM TURNED LEFT The Arm is over the software's specified limit for the
TOO FAR farmost left position. Occurs when the Arm position
is not between the software limits at power-up
(including a tolerance to be defined). Typically, this
can happen when Arm has been moved manually.

Shut down the Gantry, move lift up manually and

reboot the Gantry.

111/001 DEBUG ROTATION SOFT- On every command sent by PTB, IPMS shall check if
ONLY WARE ERROR the command identifier is part of the list of com-
mands to be taken into account by IPMS. If the com-
mand is not recognized, command shall be ignored,
and “CommandIdError” shall be returned.

Should not occur in the field. It could be a disconnect

between the CPU soft release and the Node soft
release. Contact your OLC if problem persists.
111/002 DEBUG ROTATION SOFT- On every command sent by the PTB, the IPMS
ONLY WARE ERROR checks if all the parameter's values are compatible
with their corresponding range. If this is not the case,
the IPMS ignores the command and returns the
“ParameterError” to the PTB.

Should not occur in the field. It could be a disconnect

between the CPU soft release and the Node soft
release. Contact your OLC if problem persists.
111/003 WARNING ROTATION CALIB If calibration has not been achieved, then for each

tion on page 1203.
111/004 WARNING NO VALID LINE Occurs when the Gantry CPU requests a motion but DIAG
FOR ROTATION node does not see the valid line. The valid line is a A1116
real time (RT) line that is activated by the CPLD of page 766
the node containing the UIF during the time when the
UIF is pressed + a deceleration time. This activation
is a frequency put on the RT line and that is specific
to the button pressed (Tube Head and/or X-Ray
Console).
Also occurs when the valid line falls before the end of
the movement.
This error does not concern decompression and tilt.

Valid line problem. Check the different motions,

using all keypads to determine the defective node
then refer to JC DIAG A1116 ROTATION CONTROL
FAILURE on page 766 for diagnostics.

112/000 HALT ROTATION SOFT- The watch-dog receives a pulse from microcontroller
WARE ERROR every 40 ms. If not, it resets the microcontroller, then
rotation node restarts and sends a boot-up signal to
gantry CPU. The only possible reason for a boot-up D/R A221
of a node after system power-up is a reset by watch- page
dog. Therefore, when gantry CPU receives the boot- 1011

perform a compression motion before a com-
plete Gantry boot. CAL A048
2. If the problem persists check the error logs. If this page
error occurs in conjunction with the error 162/006 1223
then there is a possibility that a jumper exists on
the TP1 connector on the Tilt board. In this case CAL A050
you must remove the jumper from the TP1 con- page
nector on the Tilt board. 1225
3. If the problem persists, then change the Tilt

167/004 HALT EMCY LINE FAIL- Possible causes:
URE ON COM- • A stop motion simulation fault occurred. At power-
PRESSION NODE up, in order to make sure that the stop motion line
works, the compression board simulates an open-
ing of the stop motion line (like a pressure on the
stop motion button). Then, lift, rotation and com-
pression nodes enter their safety mode and warn
the Gantry CPU. After this check, the Gantry CPU
simulates a stop motion as well. Again, the lift, rota-
tion and compression nodes enter their safety
mode and warn the Gantry CPU. If one of the
nodes does not enter its safety mode, the Gantry
CPU creates an error message.
• The TP1 connector on the Compression board is
closed.

Proceed as follows:
1. Check the error logs. If this error occurs in con-
junction with the error 161/038 then there is a
possibility that a jumper exists on the TP1 con-
nector on the Compression board. In this case
you must remove the jumper from the TP1 con-
nector on the Compression board.
2. If the TP1 connector is not closed on the Com-
pression board, then apply the following rules to
determine which board to change:

- If no other node responded to the stop com-

mand then the Faulty FRU is the Compression D/R A250

In this case check the Compression board’s
cable connections, and cable. If necessary
