QUESTIONS:

1. Mention the hardware components connected to the PC you are using. Categorize the input,
output, storage (hard disk drive) and processing devices.
2. Mention the hard disk storage capacity, CPU specifications and RAM capacity size on the
PC you are using.
3. Discuss the attributes which are used to rate CPUs.
4. What are the issues you must consider when buying a computer system?
5. What are key issues you take into account when buying mobile gadgets?
6. The monitor displays are affected by Pixels, Dot pitch, refresh rate, Color depth, etc, Discuss
these effects.
7. Differentiate between computer primary memory and secondary storage.
8. What are the common uses of the secondary storage devices?
9. Explain three ways that RAM is different from ROM.
10. Explain the differences between Magnetic storage (hard Disk), Optical storage (CDs and
DVDs, and Solid-State Media (USB).
11. With examples, explain what is a Network attached storage (NAS).
12. Discuss, using examples, at least five applications of cloud storage.

COMPUTER SOFTWARE

1. Start the computer (where you are sitting), mention the Operating system and the version
of the Operating system installed into that computer. If there are more than one Operating
systems, mention all of them.
2. Go to the start area; make sure you see all of the application software installed into that
computer you are using. Mention any 10 application software installed into that
computer.
3. The application software is categorized into General-purpose Application software and
Tailor-made Application software. Differentiate these two.
4. The Application programs seen in the computer you are using, mention the General-
purpose Application software you see and if possible and their use.
5. Do you see any Tailor-made Application software, Mention?
