1. Define Ohm's law. [CO1]

5. Define Apparent power. [CO3]
6. Find the current in the circuit of fiq 1 [CO3]
7. Calculate the Q factor of a parallel LC circuit with f 0= 450 KHz and bandwidth is equal to 10
khz. [CO4]
8. Find the duals of the circuit of fig 2 [CO4]
9. Calculate the total inductance of the series combination of inductors shown below in fig 3.

13. a) A coil having a resistance of 6 ohm and an inductor of 0.03 H is connected across a 100 V,
5O Hz supply. Calculate i) Current ii) the phase angle between the current and voltage iii)
power factor iv) power. [CO3]

b) Find the thevenin’s equivalent circuit for the network given below.

14. a) Determine the resonant frequency, impedence, voltage across the inductor , voltage
across the capacitor, Quality factor, half power frequencies and bandwidth of a series RLC
circuit having R=10 ohms, L=0.5 mH, C=10 µF.

b) In a series RLC Circuit, R= 5 ohm, L= 1 H, and C = 1 F. A DC Voltage of 20 V is applied
at t=0. Obtain i(t).
15. a) Explain the types of connections in coupled Coils.

b) Draw the graph of the networks for the given circuit and oriented graph

16. (a) A series circuit containing pure resistance and pure inductance has the current and voltages as:

i(t)=5sin(314t+32π) and v(t)=20sin(314t+32π) for the inductance, and

v(t)=20sin(314t+65π) for the resistance.

(i) What is the impedance of the circuit? (ii) What are the values of resistance, inductance, and power
factor? (iii) What is the power drawn by the circuit?

16. (b) When a voltage of 100 V at 50 Hz is applied to choking coil 1, the current taken is 8 A and the
power is 120 W. When the same supply is applied to choking coil 2, the currentis 10 A and the
power is 500 W. Find the current and power when the supply is applied to two coils connected in
series.
