Brain is a middle-aged man and he lives in Athens, Greece. He is a medical doctor. He

looks after sick people. He has got a routine and everyday he follows this. He usually gets up
at 6.00 o'clock. Today he is late, it is 6.30 and he is still in bed. He usually goes to work by
train but today he is driving to work. He arrives at work at 6.30 every morning but it is 7.30
now and he is still not at work. The traffic is terrible.
He always has his lunch at 12.00 but he sometimes looks after his sick patients until
12:30. He usually leaves work at 5:00. Brian usually watches TV at half past seven because
his favorite programme starts at half past seven. Brian has his dinner at 8.30 everyday with his
family. He has got two daughters but he doesn’t have a son. His wife’s name is Margaret and
she is a doctor, too.
Brian and Margaret are successful doctors. They both know it is difficult to be a doctor
but they love their job. Everyday they see tens of patients. These people all have some health
problems. And they are usually stressed people. Sometimes they are aggressive and even
fight. Luckily, Brian and Margaret are experienced doctors. They read a lot of books and
search the Internet for more information in the evenings. At the end of the day, they usually
feel tired.
They always go to bed at 24.00 but of course their children go to bed at 10:30. It is 24.00 now
and it is time to go to bed for Brian and Margaret. Tomorrow will be another busy day for
them.

New York

New York is one of the largest cities in the United States. New York city is in the state of
New York. Nearly eight million people live in the Big Apple. New York is also called “the Big
Apple.” New York City is also home of the United Nations. New York City is home to two
hundred and fifty museums, four hundred art galleries, and the world famous Broadway for
entertainment. For this reason, thousands of people, tourists from different parts of the world visit
it every year. New York earns a lot of money from tourism.

Most of the tourists are businessmen. They usually have offices in the city because it is the
center of finance. New York City is the business capital of the world and many national and
international corporations have their headquarters in New York City. Wall Street, the world's
leading center of finance and the home of the American Stock Exchange and the New York Stock
Exchange are all in New York.

Surprisingly this city has two of everything. There are two professional baseball, basketball,
hockey, and football teams in the city. There are also many cafés, restaurants, bars, discos,
cinemas and theatres. It has a very active social life. Many people would like to live there.

African elephants are very large

animals. They live on land. They grow all of
their lives. Male African elephants can be
thirteen feet tall from the ground to the top of
their shoulder. They can weigh up to 14,000
pounds. African elephants have ears and their
ears can be five feet long and their shape is tusk
like the continent of Africa. Elephants move s
their ears because the big ears help keep the

 Elephants eat all day long. They eat vegetables, such as grass, leaves, and other plants.
They also eat fruit, like bananas. Elephants use their trunks to get food and put it in their
mouth. They can also get water into their trunks and drink water with their trunks. Elephants
sometimes drink up to forty gallons of water a day! Elephants use their trunks to pick up
things and to hold things. They can pick up something small or big things, like a tree. They
also breathe, take oxygen with their trunks.
Elephants have two tusks, which are made of ivory. The tusks grow to the right and
the left sides of their trunks. Elephants can use their tusks to fight. People kill elephants
because they use their tusks (bones) to make beautiful jewelry and statues. It is illegal to kill
elephants now, because killing animals is dangerous for their future.
