BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE

ABSTRACT

Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is a groundbreaking technology that establishes a direct

communication pathway between the human brain and external electronic devices. BCIs bypass

traditional neuromuscular outputs, allowing users to control computers, prosthetics, and other

devices through brain signals alone. This is achieved by capturing electrical activity from the brain

using sensors such as EEG (electroencephalography) and processing these signals using advanced

algorithms.

BCI technology holds immense potential in medical applications, particularly for individuals with

disabilities, enabling them to regain control over movement and communication. Beyond healthcare,

BCIs are being explored in gaming, virtual reality, and even military systems. Challenges such as

signal noise, data interpretation, and real-time responsiveness remain, but continuous

advancements in machine learning and neural signal processing are steadily improving system

performance.

This seminar delves into the fundamentals of BCI systems, their architecture, signal acquisition and

processing methods, and real-world applications. The session also discusses current limitations and

the exciting future of direct brain-to-device interaction.
