PPST
The Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) is a framework that describes the
highest standards of practice as well as professionalism expected from. You have more clarity
in all these domains like content knowledge, pedagogy skills, assessment and evaluation,
demographic specific learning environment and your professional development. These
benchmarks guide the preparation of teachers to provide quality instruction, develop effective
learning environments, and engage in ongoing professional development with the goal of
good teaching. It is also meant to be a teacher appraisal instrument, providing feedback for
career upgrading and interventions within professional growth plans.

Seven (7) Domains


1. Social Regard for Learning
 Stresses that learners should be imbued with a taste of education, integrity in the
role of learning on their lives.
2. Learning Environment
 Work to create a safe and inviting classroom that promotes student engagement
with learning.
3. Diversity of learners
 Acknowledges the need to consider and accommodate a variety of student needs,
backgrounds, skills.
4. Curriculum Planning
 Curriculum planning relates to instruction and learning by establishing coherent
goals, structure connected content. It helps teachers plan instruction, keeps
assessments aligned with learning goals and makes adjustments to better meet the
needs of diverse students. It essentially outlines guide to instruction and assesment
efficiencies.
5. Assessing
 Assessment involves determining what students understand and can do (tests,
quizzes, projects). Feedback to determine the stages where students are
progressing, identifying areas in which they may require further help and giving
teachers information about how effective their teaching is
6. Re-porting
 It is about telling the students’ outcomes and improvements to all the regarding
parties such as including Parents, school authorities and so on. Eg grades,
comments on student behaviour and areas for improvement. Reporting: Good
reporting allows for transparency and data driven decision making with respect to
where teaching at support needs further development.
7. Community Linkages and Personal Growth and Professionalism Variable
 Supports the development of strong community linkages throughout, as well as
establishing high levels of professional behaviour and constant improvement.
