2. Configure Device Attributes:
• Output Device Name: Enter a descriptive name for your output device (e.g., Test_Printer).
• Short Name: Provide a short name (e.g., VIEW).
• Device Type: Select based on printer model (e.g., SAPWIN for Windows printers, or HP2800 for specific HP
models)
• Spool Server: Enter the SAP application server name, Enter SAP spool work process server (e.g.,
systemdb_BTC_80).
• Device Class: Select the relevant device class (e.g., Standard printer for a typical printer, or FAX, Device Pool,
Logical Output Device as applicable).
3. Configure Access Method:
• Host Spool Access Method: Select the access method based on your client's requirements.
▪ P: Device Pool (any available printer in the pool can print it.)
▪ L: Print Locally Using LP/LPR (Linux printer using the system's printing service)
▪ M: E-Mail to Receiver/Owner (Instead of printing, the output is emailed to the user.)
▪ S: Print Using SAP Protocol (SAP’s own printing method used in SAP environments.)
• Host Printer: Enter the name of your host printer (e.g., HP_DeskJet).

5. Check Spool Request Status:
• Run T-code SP01 to check the status of the generated spool request.
Note (for testing scenarios)
Once the spool number is generated, you can check the status in transaction SP01 to see if the print was successful.
In my case, the status shows as "Waiting" because there is no physical printer connected. The system is trying to find a
printer, but since this was a test scenario without an actual printer, the status remains in waiting.
However, in a real setup with a proper printer configuration, the same steps will work and the print will be completed
successfully.
