Overall, it is evident that castles became the most
popular/dominant destination over the period, while the zoo,
despite being the least visited in 1980, showed a noticeable
rise by 2010. The festival experienced a steady decline,
whereas the aquarium saw fluctuations after an initial surge.
In 1980, festivals were the most visited attraction, drawing
approximately 30% of tourists. Castles followed at 23%,
aquariums at 20%, and zoos were the least visited at 10%. By
1985, the proportion of tourists visiting aquariums rose
significantly, making it the top destination at that point. In
contrast, castles showed a consistent upward trend, peaking at
45% in 1995. Although there was a slight drop afterward, they
remained the most visited site by the end of the period in
2010.
Zoo attendance experienced minor fluctuations throughout,
but showed an upward trend, reaching 20% by 2010,
surpassing both the aquarium and festival by the end of the
period. Meanwhile, the percentage of visitors attending
festivals declined steadily, dropping to around 18% over the
30-year period.
