ABSTRACT
The increasing demand for electric motor bicycles in India stems from
their ability to reduce air pollution, lower maintenance costs, and minimize noise
pollution. This research aims to design a simple, cost-effective electric motor bicycle
equipped with an intelligent controller and a tilt detection system. The proposed
model includes a BLDC motor mounted on the rear wheel, a rechargeable battery,
and a controller to regulate motor speed and current. The bicycle can operate in two
modes: electric-powered mode, using battery charge, and manual mode, powered by
pedaling. To enhance rider safety, a tilt detection mechanism was integrated into the
system. Using an MPU-6050 sensor and an Arduino Nano microcontroller, the tilt
detection system monitors the bicycle's orientation in real time. It provides alerts to
the rider through a buzzer when the tilt angle exceeds safe thresholds, helping prevent
accidents. Performance evaluation was conducted using an electric bike by
experimental testing with a hardware assembly kit. The results demonstrate the
effectiveness of the proposed electric motor bicycle, combining sustainable mobility
with enhanced safety features for practical urban transportation.
