Abstract
This study explores the role of academic libraries as agents of information dissemination in
the age of globalization, using Lagos State University of Science and Technology
(LASUSTECH) as a case study. The research investigates how LASUSTECH Library adapts to
technological changes, employs digital platforms, and meets the information needs of its
users—students, faculty, and staff. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach involving
questionnaires and literature review, the study identifies strengths in resource access and
weaknesses in infrastructure and staff capacity. Findings suggest that while LASUSTECH
Library is gradually aligning with global standards, challenges such as limited funding, staff
training, and ICT tools persist. The study concludes by offering policy-based
recommendations to enhance the library's global relevance and efficiency in academic
knowledge dissemination.
