Activity#1: Counting of Pulse Rate

Steps:

1. Find a working partner for the counter.

2. Feel your pulse right above your wrist.

3. At 15 seconds, count how many pulse you'd feel. Record your count as _____beats in 15s.

4. Stand up and simulate a strenous activity for doing the "Jumping Jack" for 30 seconds.

5. Again, for about 15 seconds, count your pulse and write them down on your notebook as _____beats
in 15s.

6. Do this with your partner as well.

Guide Questions:

1. What is the first thing you have noticed about your record?

2. What is your pulse rate before the activity? After the activity?

3. Does anybody get the same trend where the first measurement is smaller than the second one? Why
is that so?
4. What have you noticed on your breathing after the activity? Did it shorten or lengthen? How did that
happen?
