RE : ELECTION OF STUDENTS LEADERS, 2025/2026
The office of students affairs wishes to report to you as follows :
> The election program was released on June 02nd 2025, inviting
applications from suitably qualified students, to apply for posts of their
interests (from a list of 22 posts) that was rolled out together with the
program.
> A total of 46 applications were received, out of which 32 applicants
managed to go through vetting successfully, whereas two applicants
petitioned and the committee gave them a fair hearing, which gave
them the opportunity to contest.
> Open - air campaigns were successfully conducted on Wednesday 11th
June, giving opportunity to all aspirants to mobilize for support from
the electorates.
> A free and fair election was conducted on Thursday 12th June, with
each student receiving a ballot paper containing posts and names of
aspirants on each post, with a ballot box, where a voter would tick
against a candidate of his / her choice. A copy of the ballot paper is
attached to this report.
> Counting of votes was done in the presence of agents (and some
aspirants), and official results were declared by the electoral
commission. A copy of the declaration of results form is attached to this
report.
> The UNSA chairperson was charged with the responsibility to institute
the UNSA body, guided by the UNSA constitution and the in-charge
students affairs, just before the swearing - in ceremony.
> The Swearing - in ceremony was conducted on Monday 16th June,
graced by the presence of the Head teacher, [Link] Isaiah Opas
from the Anglican church, deputy Head teacher in charge of
administration, director of studies, patron for students’ affairs among
other members of staff, including teachers on school practice.
> The former prefects, UNSA executive and class captains, who
performed in the academic year 2024 /2025 were awarded certificates,
in recognition of their distinguished services. The list of those who
received certificates(2024/2025) is attached to this report.
> The new bodies: prefects, UNSA and class captains were taken
through their responsibilities/inducteds on Wednesday 25th June 2025.
These promised to work harder as they execute their duties. They
pledged to cooperate with the staff in order to have a smooth running
of the school. A list of these new students’ leaders is attached to this
report.
General observation
The entire program was successfully conducted. Thanks go to the
school administration and the entire staff for the support and
cooperation offered to the school electoral commission. Another
vote of thanks goes to the students’ fraternity who exhibited
maximum discipline during the entire election period.
Areas of improvement
Moving forward;
The commission will fully involve the disciplinary committee, together with
the academic committee especially at the vetting stage as this will help in
providing information about the conduct of aspirants.
The commission will involve the school task force to reduce on chances of
having student leaders who are ever absent because of school dues .
Finances used
The school facilitated the activities with a total amount of one million and seventy
four thousand shillings only(1,074,000/=,taking into account the additional
requisition of twenty thousand shillings for hiring microphones),used as shown
in the table below
