1.

16th Term and Sum

A.P.: -9, -2, 5, 12, ...

a = -9, d = 7

T16 = -9 + 15x7 = 96

S16 = 8 x (2x-9 + 15x7) = 8x87 = 696

2. Infinite Series Sum

Series: 1/1x3 + 1/3x5 + 1/5x7 + ...

Telescoping sum: (1/2)(1 - 1/3 + 1/3 - 1/5 + ...) = 1/2

3. Divide 32 in A.P.

Let terms: a-3d, a-d, a+d, a+3d

4a = 32 a = 8

(a-9d)/(a-d) = 7/15 d = 2

Terms = 2, 6, 10, 14

4. Sum of numbers divisible by 2 or 5 up to 100

Sum(2's) = 2550

Sum(5's) = 1050

Sum(10's) = 550

Final sum = 2550 + 1050 - 550 = 3050

5. Second term of series with Sn = 5n + 2n

T2 = S2 - S1 = (20 + 4) - (5 + 2) = 17

6. Sequence with Sn = 2n + 5n

tn = Sn - S(n-1) = 4n + 3

It's an A.P. with d = 4

7. 3 numbers in A.P. with sum = 24, sum of squares = 200

Let: a-d, a, a+d

3a = 24 a = 8

3a + 2d = 200 d = 2

Numbers: 6, 8, 10

8. Find n: 1 + 4 + 7 + ... = 590

a = 1, d = 3

S = n/2 (2a + (n-1)d) = 590

n(3n-1)/2 = 590 n = 20

9. Sum of numbers 200 divisible by 3

a = 3, d = 3, l = 198 n = 66

S = 66/2 x (3 + 198) = 33x201 = 6633

10. Find 3rd term: T10 = 1, T20 = -29

a + 9d = 1, a + 19d = -29

d = -3, a = 28

T3 = a + 2d = 28 - 6 = 22
