Action Recording Guidelines
Last Updated: May’2025
Introduction
SROT (Screen Recording & Observation Tool) is used for capturing user interactions such as mouse
clicks, keypresses, and UI navigation while executing predefined prompts. These recordings are
essential for AI training, process automation, and compliance verification.
This document provides step-by-step guidelines for action recorders to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and
compliance while executing prompts in SROT.

Action Recording Guidelines for SROT
1. Pre-Recording Preparation
● Fully understand the test objectives, tool functionality, and expected outcomes.
● Carefully read and understand the provided prompt, including Tool, Prompt, and Detailed
Instructions.
● Identify clearly the expected action (e.g., clicking a button, opening a menu, executing a script).
● Ensure the screen state precisely matches the context provided before initiating the recording.
● Verify all required data sources are properly connected and accessible.
● Pre-upload necessary data files to the specified locations indicated in the prompt.
● For technical tools (e.g., GitHub), confirm that all variables, filenames, licenses, or configurations
match the exact names and requirements mentioned in the prompt.
2. Environment Preparation
● Maintain a clean, distraction-free environment.
● Close all non-essential applications; only required tools should remain open.
● Disable all third-party notifications and pop-ups.
● Maintain screen resolution at 1920 x 1080.
● Ensure proper and stable Internet/WiFi connectivity throughout the recording session.
● Use an additional screen (recommended) to facilitate smooth action recording.
● Eliminate any visibility of personal information, such as bookmarks or private documents.

3. Tool and Task Selection
● Navigate through the following workflow clearly:
1. Select Project → TEST ARROW → Select Operating System (macOS/Windows) →
Select Tool → Select Feature → Select Data Type.
● Choose the appropriate tool from the dropdown menu based on your expertise. Prompts will be
allocated according to the tool selected.
4. Recording Execution
● Copy and enter the Task ID accurately.
● Start the recording:
○ For macOS: click "Start" & for windows: click "Start Recording".
8
Action Recording Guidelines
● Execute actions exactly as described in the prompt.
● Perform tasks smoothly, naturally, and consistently for accurate data capture.
● Demonstrate all required functionalities completely and correctly.
● Adhere strictly to contextual requirements and maintain consistency in execution style.
● Keep idle time below 10% of the total recording duration, except for necessary wait times such as
execution or downloads.
● Ensure all output/results of the tasks are clearly visible and demonstrated.
5. Validate the Action
● Confirm that the action is fully completed as per the prompt.
● Check carefully for any system responses, confirmation messages, or UI changes.
● Avoid unnecessary cursor movements, clicks, or delays.
6. Recording Submission
● Stopping Recording:
○ macOS: Press Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + R.
○ Windows: Press F9.
● Click on the “Submit” button after stopping the recording (macOS).
● Ensure successful submission; the recording will automatically be stored on the server.
7. Post-Recording Steps
● After submission, click on "Next Task" to log your current recording and update the Task ID.
● Once the Task ID is updated, click on "Reset" to reset the panel.
● Select the next appropriate tool and repeat the process for subsequent tasks.
● Note: Once a prompt is recorded and submitted, the recording agent session closes. To record
the next prompt, reopen the recording agent.
8. Quality Parameters
● Maintain zero tolerance for errors, including incorrect execution, tool crashes, or
misconfigurations.
● Avoid duplicate data entry unless explicitly instructed.
● Ensure that the screen state remains aligned with the expected execution throughout the
recording.

9. Important Points to Remember
● Ensure that the SROT Website does not appear on your recording screen at all, as it would
warrant an instant rejection.
● Ensure that there are no typing errors, mis-clicks, confused and aimless browsing while you are
performing your task.
● Ensure that there isn’t any essential part of the task skipped, and also that there are no extra
steps performed beyond the scope of the task. Each task must be performed in a crisp yet
complete manner.
● Ensure that there is no Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in your recordings, i.e. your
recordings do not contain any real person’s names, email addresses, home addresses, national
ID numbers, health or financial information must never appear. Instead, use placeholder names,
stock images, and other alternatives. To safeguard personal data, videos containing PII will be
rejected.
● Ensure no unnecessary tabs(in browser) or unrelated applications are open while recording.
Additionally, all the Bookmarks in web browsers should be removed or hidden during screen
recording.
● Ensure your recordings are visible and legible, and ideally the actions are performed with the tool
occupying the maximum area of the screen (i.e. either a large or a full-screen window).
Auditing & Quality Control
The recorded actions go through three layers of auditing to ensure accuracy and compliance:
1. System Audit
● The SROT software analyzes the recording for:
o Actions per second
o Lag percentage
o Idle time
● Any flagged issues must be addressed before proceeding.
2. Reviewer Audit
● Human auditors review every action recording.
● If discrepancies are found, the recording is sent back for rework.
3. Inspector Audit
● A random sample is re-checked for audit consistency.
● Auditors' performance is also evaluated based on accuracy.
