Biodesulphurization of coal and oil – Bioleaching, bioprecipitation, bioaccumulation
and biosorption of heavy metals.

UNIT II MICROBIAL METABOLISM IN WASTEWATER TREATMENT 9


Decomposition of organic compounds in natural and manmade ecosystems – Mass and
energy balance for aerobic and anaerobic reactions – Hydrolysis of biopolymers by aerobic
