PURPOSE
The purpose of this method of statement is to provide a clear guideline for structural steel
modification procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Construction Manager shall be responsible for implementing HSE, providing construction
equipment’s, tools and manpower to carry out the work as per project drawing specification
and schedule. Ensure that installation activities are being carried out in conformance to
drawing requirements and project specification.
2) Safety Supervisor shall be responsible in monitoring and overseeing safety implementation
activities from fabrication area to site installation area and ensure that all safety parameters
are being complied by all working personnel.
Scope of Work
This method statement describes the work process for the following:
1) Start of work
2) Ladder
3) Finishing
-Step by step process-
Start of work
1) Any disassembling activity shall be in accordance with TCI SANMAR’s approved drawing.
2) Materials lifting activity shall be carried out by an approved TCI SANMAR mobile crane.
3) Lifting of members shall be done with a nonabrasive choker.
4) Visually inspect work area and only begin works if it is a safe working environment.
5) Ensure the area to be worked is clear of obstruction and that safe access and egress is
maintained.
6) Check any electrical or hand tools for damage or faults, faulty or damaged tools must be
removed from service immediately.
7) Do not leave tools and equipment unattended at any time.
Ladder
1) The process shall begin with lowering the existing Ladder as follows:
2) The crane truck shall be positioned outside the filling station between axes A0 & A1.
3) The team shall fasten and secure the existing ladder upper part .
4) The team shall Cut Upper part using Cutting Torch.
5) The crane shall lower the upper part.
6) The team shall fasten and secure the lower part of ladder.
7) The team shall Cut lower part using cutting torch.
Bracing
1) The process shall begin with lowering the existing Bracing as follows:
2) The crane truck shall be positioned outside the filling station between axes A0 & A1.
3) The team shall fasten and secure the existing Bracing .
4) The team shall Cut All Bolts using Cutting Torch.
5) The crane shall lower the Bracing.
Finishing
1) All tools and equipment will be cleared to secure storage at the end of each shift
2) Staff will leave area clean and tidy at end of shift
SAFETY PRECAUTION
1) Safety requirements at site during field erection and installation shall be strictly monitored
and an implementation of complete PPE shall be strictly observed.
2) Safety Barricades from the job site where installation and erection are on progress shall
be installed.
3) Ensure that work permits shall be available prior to any site installation, erection
commencement and that safety tool box meeting is conducted.
4) Ensure that Flagmen, whole watcher, riggers and operators shall have a competency
training certificate or certified in their own field of works prior to start of any job site work
activities.
5) Safety Officer shall have a close and strict monitoring implementation of safety at site
before and after work is carried out and a house keeping shall be observe before and
after work activities to avoid any accident or incident cause of negligence.
