ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I would like to express my
gratitude to my teachers, my
parents and our principal
ma'am for helping me in
completing this project.
What is Solar Energy?
Solar energy is the radiant energy
emitted by the sun, which can be
harnessed and converted into
various forms of useful energy,
including electricity and heat. It's a
renewable and abundant resource
that offers a clean alternative to fossil
fuels.
How is Solar Energy
useful to human beings?
Solar energy is a renewable,
inexhaustible and affordable form of
energy. There exist two types of solar
devices: active and passive. Using
solar energy, environmental
pollution can be reduced to some
extent. One of the cleanest and
purest forms of energy. Some of the
applications are heating, indoor and
outdoor lights, transportation, etc.
Uses Of Solar Panels
Solar panels, or photovoltaic (PV)
systems, have a wide range of uses,
primarily focused on converting
sunlight into electricity. They can be
used for residential power,
commercial applications, and
various other purposes, including
remote power systems, water
purification, and even on spacecraft.
Sustainable Development
Solar energy plays a crucial role in
achieving sustainable development
by providing a clean, renewable, and
readily available energy source. It
helps reduce greenhouse gas
emissions, combats climate change,
and promotes economic
growth. Solar energy is also vital for
access to electricity, particularly in
underserved areas, and supports
various industries while reducing
reliance on fossil fuels.
Resources and its Types
Solar energy, a renewable resource,
can be harnessed for electricity and
heat using various technologies. The
main types of solar energy
technologies are photovoltaic (PV)
and concentrated solar power
(CSP). PV systems directly convert
sunlight into electricity, while CSP
uses concentrated sunlight to heat a
fluid, which then powers a turbine to
generate electricity .
Advantages of Solar
Energy
• Clean: It is considered to be
the cleanest form of energy as
there is no carbon dioxide
emission like in the case of
fossil fuels which is one of the
causes of global warming.
• Renewable: There is ample
energy available on earth as
long as the sun exists.
• Reliable: The energy can be
stored in the batteries, so
there is no unreliability.
• Reduction in utility costs.
• Free energy because it can be
trapped easily.
Disadvantages of Solar
Energy
• The production is low during
winters and on cloudy days.
• Installation and the initial cost
of the materials are expensive.
• Space consumption is more.
Solar Energy Project
CONCLUSION
Therefore we learn to conserve
energy for future use. We can
conserve energy by using solar
panels. We should use solar
panels in our daily life.
