ABSTRACT
.
In the current global situation, the prime question in every woman’s mind is about her safety and
security. The only thought haunting every women is when they will be able to move freely on the
streets even in late hours without worrying about their security. This work suggests a new
perspective to use technology to protect women. The wearable system resembles a normal watch
with a button. Women can press the button when they feel discomfort and activate the system. The
system can also be activated by changes in sensor setup output which is part of the system.
When activated, the system tracks the location of the woman using Global Positioning System
(GPS) sensor and sends an emergency email to the person who can help or save her.
INTRODUCTION
In Today’s World the safety of women is in danger especially in India. The rate of crimes against
women is not decreasing but in fact increasing at an alarming rate especially harassment,
molestation, eve-teasing, rape, kidnapping and domestic violence. Many preventive measures have
been taken by the government to stop these misbehaving activities but still has not affected the
growing rate of these crimes and has remained unaffected. Students face incidents like child
trafficking and kidnapping, when they are waiting to embark or disembark a school bus. Loaded
with security apps for women, smart phone can help to send emergency alerts to the chosen people
and also let people know if anything goes wrong. Sometimes there might be a situation that when
women had an accident in the late night and there are no one to help them, in such situations the
person will not be able to tell the situation that he/she facing. And they do not know the basic first-aid
details and to know the person where the incident has happened.
RESEARCH MOTIVATION
Whether at home, working place or outside the home, safety of women matters a lot. Its a sad truth that
every minute and every second some women, let it be mother, sister, wife, young girls, infants are
getting harassed, assaulted and molested at various places all over the world. Even though there are
many laws and worldwide organisations working for the welfare of women, the number of unlawful or
illegal acts against women is rapidly increasing day by day. The fact is that there are cases which are
not even filed or reported. Now, the situation has reached to a stage where parents are scared to allow
their daughters to step out of the house. This has inherited a fear in every girl’s mind and decreased the
confidence level. This has become a matter requiring a resolution. Thus, it is indeed a need to call for a
security system for the safety of women.
PROBLEM DEFINITION
• It is identified that the alert system for the women is done through the
application
• For the security purposes, the applications contain the SOS
number, which will alert the family members of the
victim.
This also has some disadvantages:
• Victim’s phone may lose
• Battery may die

RESEARCH GAPS
Despite significant advancements in the development of IoT-based women safety
systems, various research gaps still hinder their full potential. Many existing solutions are
reactive rather than proactive, focusing mainly on sending alerts or location details during
distress situations. However, these systems often lack intelligent real-time threat
assessment capabilities. For instance, very few models utilize artificial intelligence or
machine learning algorithms to interpret stress levels through voice, sudden body
movements, or ambient sound, which could help in detecting a threat even before the
user manually triggers an [Link] major gap is the limited integration of these safety
devices with local law enforcement or emergency response systems. While systems can
notify family or predefined contacts, they are typically not linked with police control
rooms, public surveillance, or ambulance dispatch services. This disconnection reduces
the efficiency of timely rescue or intervention and reflects a need for standardized
frameworks that connect IoT safety devices directly with government emergency
infrastructures.
Proposed System
• Our proposed system consists of sensors, ESP32 with sensors tool which
keep user under observation at all the times using IoT.
• We proposed a device that is automatically activated when the pressure
difference crosses over in an unsafe situation.
• In this project, we use Heartbeat, vibration, SPO2 and temperature sensor to
detect the abnormalities.
• The safety device can assist the person automatically and manually.
• This is possible because of the sensors, namely stress sensor, heart rate sensor and
SPO2 embedded in the device.
• The continuous measured physiological parameters can be stored on the chip, which
may be further useful for the person.
• Here, an ESP32 is used to handle the entire mechanism
• The sensors on the input side include temperature, SPO2, pressure, vibration, and heartbeat sensors.
• The data from these sensors will be sent to the microcontroller after they have detected the specified
values coming from the intended person.
• ESP32 microcontroller receives data from an input sensor.
• The embedded C language will be used to programme the ESP32so that the
Output will respond in accordance with the predetermined threshold value.
• Because the output is connected to the Internet of Things, we can monitor real-time values using
any of the effective IOT servers.
• The entire mechanism is controlled in this case by an ESP32.
• Topinpoint a place, utilise GPS.
ADVANTAGES
• Health Monitoring: Beyond just safety, the system can continuously
monitor vital signs, providing a holistic view of the user's health. This can be
especially useful for elderly women, those with pre-existing health
conditions, or even just for general wellness .
• Early Detection of Distress: Sudden changes in heart rate, SpO2 levels,
body temperature, or an unexpected fall can be immediate indicators of
distress, an accident, or a health crisis, even if the user is unable to
manually trigger an alert.
• Awareness for Emergency Services: When an alert is triggered, sharing
real-time data like heart rate and SpO2 can provide crucial information to
first responders, helping them understand the severity of the situation and
prepare accordingly.
• Peace of Mind for Loved Ones: Family members can have a level of
guarantee for knowing that their loved one's well-being is being passively
monitored, and they will be alerted if something seems amiss.

EXISTING METHODOLOGY
The existing system relies on traditional health monitoring methods that lack real-time tracking
and emergency alert mechanisms. Most conventional systems are standalone devices that require
manual intervention to check vital signs such as SPO2, temperature, and fall detection. They do
not provide automatic emergency alerts in case of abnormalities or accidents. Additionally, the
absence of integrated communication modules such as IoT and GSM makes remote monitoring
difficult, limiting the effectiveness of health tracking, especially for elderly individuals or patients
with critical conditions. The current setups are also less efficient in providing location tracking
using GPS, which is crucial during emergencies. Overall, the existing systems lack automation,
real-time data transmission, and an efficient emergency response mechanism, making them less
reliable compared to modern IoT-based health monitoring solutions.
DRAWBACKS
• The Drawbacks of the system is when emergency situation occurs the user cannot protect
the smartphones and they cannot track the phones if they lost it.
• The user cannot be set the alert function when they are in risk situation and immediately
they cannot pass their location to friends and family members to intimate they are in risk.
• The internet cost is too high and time delay to find out the IMEI number of mobile to track it.
• Style AN interface that permits users to manually disable the tuned in to avoid false
positive and to scale back transmission prices.
• GPS tracking feature tracks the user lively when you are the move after triggering the
emergency button. When the battery is running low, it automatically sends the location the
pre-stored contacts.
• This device works without internet connectivity.
Proposed Methodology
System Architecture :
• This work develop a women's safety system which provides the current location details of the women in
danger using GPS and GSM modules. IoT module will track the current location of the victim and update
in the webpage. In addition to location tracking it also provides some safety and security to women .The
workflow of the women safety and security is explained in this section.
• Step 1: Start the device by providing regulatory power supply
• Step 2: Switch ON the 5v of power supply.
• Step 3: Emergency is detected by using sensors
• Step 4: If GPS receives signal, GPS will start calculating the current latitude and longitude values of the
victim and send it as SMS to the registered mobile number using GSM module. Step 5: If any vibrations
detected by vibration sensor, get the last location from GPS and send to GSM module.
• Step 6: IoT module tracks the last location of the victim and that location is updated in the Webpage.

The block diagram represents a health monitoring and emergency alert system centered around the
ESP32 microcontroller. It integrates various input sensors, including GPS for location tracking, SPO2
for oxygen level monitoring, a panic switch for emergency alerts, a temperature sensor for body
temperature measurement, and a fall detection sensor for identifying sudden falls. The system is
powered by a regulated power supply (RPS) to ensure stable operation. The ESP32 processes the
collected data and sends alerts through output modules such as an LCD for real-time display, a
buzzer for immediate notifications, a GSM module for message-based alerts, and an IoT module for
remote monitoring and cloud integration. This setup enhances real-time health tracking and
emergency response, making it an efficient solution for patient care and safety. The proposed
system is an advanced IoT-based health monitoring and emergency alert system utilizing the ESP32
microcontroller to integrate multiple sensors and communication modules. It continuously tracks
vital parameters such as SPO2 levels, body temperature, and fall detection using respective sensors.
A panic switch is included to allow manual emergency alerts. The GPS module provides real-time
location tracking, which is crucial for emergency response, while GSM and IoT modules enable
remote monitoring and instant alerts to caregivers or medical professionals. The system
incorporates an LCD for displaying health parameters, a buzzer for immediate alerts, and an efficient
regulated power supply (RPS) to ensure stable operation. By automating health monitoring and
integrating real-time data transmission, this system enhances patient safety, facilitates timely
intervention, and ensures continuous health tracking, making it an effective solution for elderly
individuals and those with critical health conditions.
RESULT ANALYSIS
The implemented IoT-based women safety system was tested under various real-world
scenarios to evaluate its responsiveness, accuracy, and reliability. Upon pressing the
emergency button, the system successfully triggered the buzzer and transmitted a distress
message containing real-time GPS coordinates to the pre-configured contact number via
the GSM module. The average time taken for the message to be delivered ranged
between 5 to 7 seconds, indicating a minimal delay in emergency communication.
CONCLUSION
The system successfully integrates multiple health monitoring sensors with the ESP32
microcontroller to provide real-time tracking and emergency alerts. The system efficiently collects
data from GPS, SPO2, temperature, panic switch, and fall sensors, processes it through the ESP32,
and displays the information on an LCD screen. Additionally, emergency alerts are transmitted via
GSM and IoT, ensuring prompt communication in critical situations. The inclusion of a buzzer
enhances safety by providing immediate audible alerts. This project demonstrates a reliable and
efficient solution for real-time health monitoring and emergency response, making it highly beneficial
for elderly individuals and patients requiring continuous supervision.
