Good morning/Good afternoon sir

➢ I’m Amrutha [Link]. ‘m from Mysore. I completed my schooling in Mysore. I graduated

from Bahubali College of engineering in electronics and communication, I’m 2014 passed out.
➢ I joined unilog content solutions in 2014 as a Data analyst. I’m presently working as senior data
analyst with 7+ years’ experience
➢ I have worked in projects namely Crescent electric, Grainger, SDI, Orgill. In this projects I have
done data cleansing and data enrichment
➢ Later I joined BPT project there I used to do quality check for data enriched files, After QC we
initiate delivery process, in this step we run a Unilog vertical tool for features and attribute
labels normalisation and also we use description tools to run descriptions for TD(120), LD and
SD(40)
➢ Then I joined process engineering team in 2018 by cracking internal job posting conducted by
Unilog. My main task in PE team was creating Item repository, Master taxonomy and supporting
the creation of automation tool
*Item Repository and Master Taxonomy: From the previously existing data base we created a
common and unique taxonomy and also done data revamping to normalise the product data
* Automation Tool: Coming to automation part, we helped in creation of data base by providing
keywords or synonyms so that this data base would help in minimizing the human involvement
in creating taxonomy
(The main intension of the automation tool is to automatically classify the products by simply
providing keywords such as Product name, product name synonyms, MFR, Brand, [Link].,
descriptions etc.)
➢ I have mainly worked on taxonomy for industrial control, lamps and wiring devices
➢ Presently ‘m part of US QA team. Here we do quality analysis for all the completed Unilog files

I want to grow by learning and improving myself in this domain. I also want to grow professionally and
financially to look after my parents.

➢ Taxonomy: Product categories and subcategories organized in hierarchical structure(It is a 3 or 4

level hierarchical structure)
➢ Classification: The placement and organization of products into their respective
categories(Noun/Modifier, Hierarchical structure, UNSPSC, ETIM)
➢ Data Enrichment: Product enrichment is also known as catalog enrichment. The practice of
adding relevant information to products or catalogs to help users to find relevant products
easily (Using Client raw data we identify noun/modifier, data source using MFR & [Link], extract
information like features application, attribute values, image, pdf etc. from MFR and third party
sites)
➢ Data Cleansing: In this data cleansing we just extract product information from the input
descriptions to fill the attribute values
➢ Data Normalization/Standardization: It is set of rules and standards given by clients it is followed
to make sure that data is clean and consistent to share across different divisions
➢ Template: Set of attribute(Defining attributes(Size), Mandatory attributes(Material, colour),
Common attributes(other specifications)

Categories such as Electronics (32 – Electronic Component) and Information Technology and Telecommunications (43) might present the most complexity in classification due to the rapid advancement and constant evolution of products in these fields. The diversity of components such as resistors, capacitors, and network devices adds to the complexity, requiring detailed attribute data and accurate classification to keep up with new releases and specifications .

An automation tool reduces human involvement in taxonomy creation by using a database of keywords and synonyms to automatically classify products. By providing details such as product name, synonyms, manufacturer, brand, part numbers, and descriptions, the automation tool can organize products into appropriate categories without the need for manual classification. This streamlines the process, increases efficiency, and reduces potential human error .

A master taxonomy organizes product categories consistently across a company's catalog, enabling more efficient management by simplifying product classification and retrieval. It helps in maintaining data uniformity across different platforms and can enhance searchability, ensuring that customers and internal systems have clear and logical structures to access products. This can effectively reduce errors in product listings and improve the customer experience by making it easier to find related items .

Data enrichment enhances the overall quality of a product catalog by adding relevant information which helps users find products more easily. This is achieved by identifying nouns and modifiers from client raw data, extracting features, application details, attribute values, images, and PDFs from manufacturers and third-party sites. This process ensures the catalog is informative and detailed, improving user experience and searchability .

A data analyst might face challenges in maintaining consistency as different divisions may have varying standards and requirements. Ensuring that normalization rules and standards are effectively communicated and followed requires careful coordination and regular review. Additionally, integrating disparate data sources without losing critical information and ensuring that all divisions align with the normalized data format can be complex and require continuous updates and monitoring .

Using standardized coding systems like UNSPSC facilitates global trade and logistics by providing a common language for identifying products. This standardization improves communication between international trading partners, enhances procurement processes, and simplifies compliance with trade regulations. It also aids in inventory management and data analysis, allowing companies to maintain consistency and accuracy across various markets .

An effective data cleansing process is critical to maintain the accuracy of a company's product database as it involves extracting and correcting errors in product information. By ensuring that attribute values are correctly filled from input descriptions, data cleansing allows for consistent and precise product listings, minimizing the risk of misinformation. This accuracy is crucial for improving product discoverability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a competitive edge in customer satisfaction .

The key elements involved in taxonomy development include creating a common and unique hierarchical structure, often 3 or 4 levels deep, which organizes products into categories and subcategories. This involves the use of data from existing databases, data enrichment to add relevant information, and data normalization/standardization to ensure consistency across divisions. Automation tools are also used to minimize human involvement by classifying products using provided keywords, such as product name and synonyms, manufacturer, brand, and descriptions .

Relays and circuit breakers both serve as protection and control devices in electrical circuits but differ significantly in their functions. Relays are used to switch circuits on and off by controlling a high-power circuit with a low-power signal, suitable for signal transmission and control circuits. In contrast, circuit breakers are designed to automatically interrupt current flow to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overloads or short circuits, providing more direct protection by cutting off power supply in the event of a fault .

Attributes enhance the searchability and usability of product data sheets by defining specific product characteristics, such as size, material, and color. This detailed information allows users to filter and search for products more precisely, improving user experience. Defining mandatory, common, and optional attributes ensures that essential information is always available, facilitating easy comparisons and informed decision-making .
