Interview
1.“Tell us about yourself.”
My name is Adriana Chicaiza. I studied Industrial Administration and I’m currently a Fashion
Design student at SENA. I have a strong interest in both the creative and strategic sides of
fashion. My background allows me to approach design not only from an artistic perspective,
but also with an understanding of production processes and business management.
I have experience using Adobe tools for fashion design and illustration, and I’m constantly
developing my skills in garment construction and digital design. I’m also passionate about
crafts like crocheting and painting, which inspire my personal projects and help me stay
creative.
I recently decided to leave my previous job in order to grow professionally and focus on
fashion design full-time. I’m looking forward to applying everything I’ve learned, improving
my knowledge in clothing production, and contributing to a creative team. My long-term goal
is to become a creative director at a Colombian fashion brand and eventually launch my own
clothing line, where I can combine design and business to create meaningful fashion.
2. What motivates you?
I’m motivated by the opportunity to express creativity through fashion design and to
constantly learn new skills. I love transforming ideas into visual concepts, especially when I
can combine illustration and garment construction. Also, being part of a team where I can
grow professionally and contribute to the development of a brand is very inspiring for me.
3. What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include crocheting, painting with watercolors, and coloring with pencils. These
activities help me stay creative and improve my sense of color, texture, and detail, which I
also apply in my fashion design projects.
4. What are your future plans if you get this job?
If I get this job, I plan to learn as much as possible about garment production and
professional fashion processes. I want to improve my skills, especially in managing
collections and using Adobe tools efficiently. I also hope to contribute creative ideas to the
team.
5. What are your future goals or what are your career goals?
My career goal is to become a creative director at a well-known Colombian fashion brand. I
want to lead collections that reflect both cultural identity and innovation. Eventually, I aim to
launch my own clothing brand and manage it by combining my knowledge in fashion design
and industrial administration.
6. What do you see as a major success in your life?
One of my biggest successes is starting my own clothing brand project and developing my
skills as a self-taught illustrator. I’ve also taken the important step of leaving a previous job to
pursue more meaningful professional growth in the creative field.
7. Why did you leave your last job?
I left my last job because I was looking for better stability and more opportunities to grow in
the design and illustration area. I wanted to fully dedicate myself to developing my creative
skills and building a career that aligns with my passion.
8. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years, I see myself running my own fashion brand, combining both of my professional
careers. I plan to have a small team working with me, producing unique designs and growing
both locally and internationally. I also hope to be an inspiration to other young designers in
Colombia.
