Product Design and Pricing Guide
Purchase rules are crucial for defining the prices, vendors, and locations for each product component, which is essential for managing procurement processes. These rules are managed by the Purchasing Team and are listed in the PURCHASE RULES TAB. They dictate how components are bought, whether as raw materials or as parts of kits, and outline various sourcing modes .
Selecting different sourcing modes impacts how components are procured and affects logistics and cost structure. For instance, 'Purchase Kit Components' mode focuses on buying pre-designed bouquets, while 'Purchase Raw materials' allows more customization at a raw material level, potentially lowering costs but increasing complexity. Each mode aligns with specific production or sales strategies, affecting overall operational efficiency .
Component tab settings significantly impact the product lifecycle by defining the exact components and quantities needed, enabling precise inventory management, procurement, and assembly processes. This precision minimizes waste and maximizes efficiency throughout the production and sales phases, ultimately influencing customer satisfaction and operational cost .
To add a component substitution, click the plus button to add a component. Then, use the Substitutions column to select an alternative option for a particular component. This facilitates the flexibility to change components as needed .
A Single Product is made of specific components such as individual flowers or hardgoods, while a Kit Product is made of bunches or designs that may comprise various combinations of smaller sets or individual components .
Sales price rules are established by the SALES TEAM and/or DESIGNER TEAM, who determine prices and store locations for each product. These rules influence how products are marketed and sold, ensuring competitiveness and profitability .
Attachments in the product design process are used to include any necessary documents that support the design, such as technical specifications, compliance certificates, or supplier agreements. They are important for maintaining comprehensive documentation that aids in auditing, compliance verification, and providing critical information to stakeholders .
The 'Production' tab is significant as it allows adding production activities and assembly instructions essential for manufacturing. It bridges design and production teams by providing necessary details for efficient production, ensuring product quality and reducing errors .
To create a product identifier or UPC, fill in the Name, Type, Category, Prefix, and Number fields, which uniquely identify each product facilitating tracking and inventory management .
To create a new product design, navigate to Products > Products > Designs and fill in fields such as Name, Reference, Number, Category, unit, customer level, and Customer company, and add a product photo. In the COMPONENTS TAB, add components like flowers, potted plants, or hardgoods, specifying the quantity for each. In the PACKING TAB, add or modify the product sales pack. In the SETTINGS TAB, define settings like refrigeration and sourcing mode. Use the PURCHASE RULES TAB to list purchasing rules managed by the Purchasing Team and the SALES RULES TAB to add sales rules for the design .
